What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases. Now with his mother (Helfer) taken care of, in season three, Lucifer wants to figure out who kidnapped him and why his angel wings have returned. He also has to deal with a new rival for Chloe’s attention, Lieutenant Marcus Pierce (Welling), who, unlike Lucifer, is strategic, reserved, and well-respected.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Lucifer averaged a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. Find out how Lucifer stacks up against the other FOX TV shows.
Lucifer was cancelled by FOX, but was later picked up for season four by Netflix. Season four debuts May 8, 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Although it premiered with okay numbers, the ratings for Lucifer are even lower than last year’s (and those weren’t very good). I suspect it will be back for a fourth season but it could easily be cancelled due to the low ratings. For now, I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page with breaking developments. The background graphic for Lucifer on the AppleTV has changed to include the words “Amazon Prime Exclusive”. Does this mean that Fox has sold the show to Amazon the same way The Mindy Project was sold to Hulu?
No, it’s still on FOX.
They took their precious time to address the Sinnerman villain in season 3, which was too round about and might have totally hurt Lucifer as a series due to this…

Yes, please keep it running, it makes me kick my feet every crass joke Lucifer makes, it’s all simply too funny and it makes me feel really good. It’s the Detective Show that I CAN actually watch, while my Parents bury themselves in CSI and Law & Order rubbish.
I just recently caught up to ‘The Sin Bin’ and I’m dying for more.. :c

Lucifer is the best show ever. I am italian and also in Italy we love the show. Tom Ellis plays Lucifer perfectly: a great actor with an enchanting voice. He is not only sexy and ironic, but can also express reflexive and dramatic shadows. All the team is phantastic: Chloe, Maze, Linda, Amenadiel, Trixie… Characters and story lines are original, intelligent and amazing. I really hope it continues to season 4 and Deckerstar lives and loves each other.
Lucifer is the best please keep the seasons coming I am a south African but I downloaded all these seasons thee best ever show I am begging trixi is an adorable actoctor and maze AWESOMENESS huge fan glue too these seasons been watching them over and over
Please stay with it. I like the characters as they are not one dimensional, and all the story lines are interesting.
I hope it continues to season 4. It’s one of of a few decent shows that Fox still has. They always cancel the good ones, I hope that is not the case here. I love this show.
