TV show description:
This horror black comedy series is based on the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg for DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint. It’s the story of the original fallen angel — Lucifer.
Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) has abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles. There, he owns an upscale nightclub named Lux. Charming, charismatic, and devilishly handsome, Lucifer is enjoying his retirement, indulging in a few of his favorite things — wine, women, and song.
His bliss is disturbed when a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered outside of his club. For the first time in roughly 10 billion years, he feels something awaken deep within him as a result of this murder. Could it be (perish the thought) compassion or sympathy?
These thoughts disturb both Lucifer and his best friend and confidante, Mazikeen aka Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt). Maze is a fierce demon who’s taken the form of a beautiful young woman.
The murder outside the club attracts the attention of LAPD homicide detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German). She’s initially dismissive of Lucifer but she soon becomes intrigued by his talent for drawing out people’s secrets. Chloe also likes his desire to dispense justice, doling out punishment to those who deserve it.
As they work together to solve the pop star’s murder, Lucifer is struck by Chloe’s inherent goodness. Accustomed to dealing with the absolute worst of humanity, Lucifer is intrigued by Chloe’s apparent purity and begins to wonder if there’s hope for his own soul yet.
At the same time, God’s emissary, an angel named Amenadiel (DB Woodside), has been sent to Los Angeles to convince Lucifer to return to the underworld.
Can the Devil incarnate be tempted toward the side of Good — or will his original calling pull him back toward Evil?
Episode #93 — Partners ‘Til the End
Desperate to rescue Rory, Lucifer and Chloe confront her kidnapper with guns and wings blazing. Lucifer finally comes to terms with his purpose.
First aired: September 10, 2021.
What do you think? Do you like the Lucifer TV show? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
Love this show. Please keep it
Who would have thought that we want the devil to not only to be the hero but get the girl as well. Chloe needs to wake up because Lucifer is her ideal man.
Love this show.
Just another couple of episodes before Lucifer is finished but hopefully not in the cancellation bin but is renewed for another season. Just a few observations: In “Pops” Chloe’s mother tells her to take a leap of faith but it is actually Lucifer who has taken that leap although he hasn’t realised it. Chloe more than likely will stick with Dan because he is “safe” and yet if she takes that leap it would be to choose Lucifer. While Luci would never be 100% physically faithful to her we can see at this point he is hers 100% emotionally and… Read more »
I love this show please do not cancel it
Great show. He needs to be more devil-like and is turning good too soon. Does this mean it’s the end for the show? Lucifer is fresh and a great idea. I liked Almost Human and look what happened to that.
I don’t think Lucifer will ever be 100% good but the problem is that Fox only wanted 13 episodes and the series finished filming in January. Apparently the last episode is open ended in that there is some closure that is satisfying to the audience but still leaves room for future storylines. Joe Henderson, in an interview, said that if there is a second season it would include the relationship between Lucifer and Amenadiel and their largely absent father. Lucifer should definitely be renewed as we are engaged with these characters and want to see what happens to them. The… Read more »
LOVE this show; very entertaining! Please do NOT cancel!
Please for the love of God keep this show. It most certainly deserves many mote seasons. I’m absolutely in awe at Tom Ellis first I’m seeing the guy and my lord is he perfect. So yeah do something for all people and keep going with Lucifer.
This show is extremely funny, sexy and entertaining. The one liners by Tom Ellis are fantastic. The devil storyline keeps it interesting. Don’t cancel!!!!!
I too love this show and hope it will see a season 2, a few things that aggravate me, mainly small things, like when he was shot and got injured, how convenient that he was no long immortal. I really want Chloe to see him for who is and still like him. But the one episode that really brought me closer to God is the one about the Priest. I cannot describe it in words but it touched me deeply.
I think in her own way she does see Lucifer for who he really is but doesn’t want to acknowledge it. On some level she takes it for granted. In “Pops” she does make the comment that she understands why Lucifer is still angry with God but she doesn’t bat an eye when he responds with, “My dad”. When Lucifer comments about the irony of the devil getting burned she just accepts his statement. The interesting thing is that she goes, even though she is drunk to Lucifer for comfort after the text message from “Dan”. Whatever the connection is… Read more »
This is a really creative and fun program and I hope it will not be pulled back any time soon. Enjoy it every week and look for more.
This is a fun show. I love this show and look forward to it every week. It challenges the way I think. Don’t cave to the pressure. This is a great show!!!
I also find this show is multi-leveled and can really get one thinking. One of the great things is that writers address some serious issues such as personal responsibility, consequences for one’s actions, the concept of free will, redemption, etc. but don’t hit us over the head with a sledge hammer.
I certainly don’t know why there are some groups who are opposed to this show but didn’t complain about Hannibal. Maybe if those opposed actually watched some episodes they would change their mind. Most of us get the overall theme.
I love this show. It’s funny and just when you think he’s a good guy in a bad situation he shows you he’s not all that good but in a funny way. This is a FUN tv show. A Great way to escape and just have fun. Please leave it on the air. Don’t cave to the pressure!!!
It was ironic that it is Lucifer who lays the truth out on the table at the family dinner and he looks so befuddled when everyone gets up and walks away. It isn’t until later in the episode that shows people have been thinking about what was said. We, the audience can guess as to why he rejects Chloe’s advances but he doesn’t. What I loved in “Et tu..” was when Lucifer told Rick that he could only go up (meaning just jump) and Rick takes a different interpretation.
I look foward to seeing this show. Develish in a good way. Keep it going.
I love Lucifer! Tom Ellis is mesmerizing and the show is refreshing. Tom Ellis and Lauren German are a great match. All the main characters gel – great casting.
