TV show description:
This horror black comedy series is based on the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg for DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint. It’s the story of the original fallen angel — Lucifer.
Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) has abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles. There, he owns an upscale nightclub named Lux. Charming, charismatic, and devilishly handsome, Lucifer is enjoying his retirement, indulging in a few of his favorite things — wine, women, and song.
His bliss is disturbed when a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered outside of his club. For the first time in roughly 10 billion years, he feels something awaken deep within him as a result of this murder. Could it be (perish the thought) compassion or sympathy?
These thoughts disturb both Lucifer and his best friend and confidante, Mazikeen aka Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt). Maze is a fierce demon who’s taken the form of a beautiful young woman.
The murder outside the club attracts the attention of LAPD homicide detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German). She’s initially dismissive of Lucifer but she soon becomes intrigued by his talent for drawing out people’s secrets. Chloe also likes his desire to dispense justice, doling out punishment to those who deserve it.
As they work together to solve the pop star’s murder, Lucifer is struck by Chloe’s inherent goodness. Accustomed to dealing with the absolute worst of humanity, Lucifer is intrigued by Chloe’s apparent purity and begins to wonder if there’s hope for his own soul yet.
At the same time, God’s emissary, an angel named Amenadiel (DB Woodside), has been sent to Los Angeles to convince Lucifer to return to the underworld.
Can the Devil incarnate be tempted toward the side of Good — or will his original calling pull him back toward Evil?
Episode #93 — Partners ‘Til the End
Desperate to rescue Rory, Lucifer and Chloe confront her kidnapper with guns and wings blazing. Lucifer finally comes to terms with his purpose.
First aired: September 10, 2021.
What do you think? Do you like the Lucifer TV show? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
I love the show, please do not canel
Love the show. Interesting story lines with great character development. Don’t cancel it. An interesting concept regarding Lucifer and his contemplation’s of his own possibility of redemption.
FOX – do not cancel Lucifer. It is a great show. The one problem is the writers have made him (the Devil) too nice. He needs to take action against the “bad” guys “> Take a hint from Supernatural or Sleepy Hollow. Also get rid of Dan so he can begin a romantic relationship with Cloe. Can the Lucifer the Devil fall in love? It would be interesting to find out.
Some of the action Lucifer takes is done off screen; for example, we don’t know how he dealt with Carmen but we can imagine the punishment. We can only speculate what he would have done to the biker who stole the wings or what he would have done to the shooter who killed Father Frank. We do know what he did to Jimmy and we can guess at what Lucifer meant when he told Benny that he would keep him. I agree with you that Chloe and Lucifer are ideally matched but the true test will come if and when… Read more »
If Lucifer were a novel then the episode “A priest walks …bar” is the turning point for Lucifer. We have watched his progress into becoming what his name means, “light bearer/bringer” but in this heart wrenching episode his rage at Father Frank’s death could mark his descent into the darkness and beyond any redemption. The writers have constructed such a well written show that we are involved with these characters. Hopefully this series will be renewed and we can continue to be engaged with them. This is a series that relies on dialogue, character interaction rather than special effects to… Read more »
Love the show Lucufer. Do not cancel. Tom Ellis is perfect!
Great show, great actor playing Lucifer. Its refreshing to see a different type of entertainment
Please keep this show. The writing is wonderful, the characters developed within an inch of their evil little lives and the plots are certainly not boring. Don’t know if he can play the piano or not, but the the two times Lucifer “played” made the show.
Kudos to the writers, producers for finding the music that reinforces the theme and plot in each episode. Ellis does play the French horn in real life.
I love this show. Can’t wait for it to come on each Monday night. I really, really hope that it will come back again next year. Lucifer is funny and he makes the show great. Please keep it going.
Different and interesting!! I love it!!!
I absolutely LOVE Lucifer. It’s very different and I like the relationship between Lucifer and Chloe. I’m hoping something might happen between the two of them. PLEASE DON’T CANCEL THIS SHOW!!! YOU’LL BE MAKING A HUGE MISTAKE
What is interesting about this pair is that they are more than friends, but they are not lovers in the traditional meaning of the word. The connection between them is much deeper than that. It is like looking at two incomplete persons (souls) but when they are together they are one complete person. They need each other but in a good way: neither is completely dependent on the other. They are the perfect match.
Has anyone else noticed that the only time Lucifer called Chloe, “Chloe” was in the first episode when he saved her from dying. Ever since he has called her “Detective”. We can speculate on the reasons why but it is interesting to see how their dynamics have changed. I usually watch each episode twice because I miss something the first time around but get it on the second time. In “A priest…bar” you can see a puzzled look on Luci’s face when, on the way to the elevator he walks by Malcolm. I wonder how long it will take Luci… Read more »
