TV show description:
The Pritchett, Delgado, and Dunphy clans all agree to be interviewed by a documentary crew but the families have no idea just how much they’re about to reveal about themselves.
Jay Pritchett (Ed O’Neill) will always remember the day that he met Gloria (Sofia Vergara). The stunning woman from Columbia was bartending in a bikini at the pool party that Jay threw for himself on the day that his wife left him. Now that Jay and Gloria are married and he has to work hard to keep up with his much younger, hotter wife and her passionate teenage son, Manny Delgado (Rico Rodriguez).
Jay’s adult daughter, Claire (Julie Bowen), is having a hard time raising her own family. Her husband, Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell), is a great guy, except for the fact that he thinks he’s “down” with their teenage kids, much to their constant embarrassment. Their three kids are Haley (Sarah Hyland), Alex (Ariel Winter), and Luke (Nolan Gould). Haley is a typical teen, isn’t always the brightest, and dates slacker Dylan (Reid Ewing). Alex is a brainy overachiever who enjoys messing with her siblings. Luke is a rambunctious boy who often gets into trouble when his parents aren’t paying attention.
Jay’s gay son, Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and his enthusiastic and emotional partner, Cameron (Eric Stonestreet), have just adopted Lily, a precious little baby girl from Vietnam. While Mitchell is comfortable with his sexuality, his Dad still has a hard time accepting it.
This single-camera comedy offers a ‘mockumentary’ view into the complicated, messy, loving life of three unique and connected families.
Episode #250 — Finale, Part 2
The entire family discovers saying goodbye is much harder than it seems.
First aired: April 8, 2020.
What do you think? Do you like the Modern Family TV show? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a 12th season?
I love this show, I look forward to laughing every week! Phil, OMG I love this goofball, he is the show
I very sad this is ending, I still really enjoy it.
It is about time! Maybe the rest of the mindless comedies will go with it.
Great show don’t end
My family really enjoys this show and will truly miss it.we look forward to seeing it every week and sometimes watch reruns if we have time. It’s a rare masterpiece in so many ways from actors to storylines…everyone is perfect!
I am crazy about this show! The way the characters are intertwined is brilliant! I am sad that it is ending! Please have a change of heart!
Used to be funny, but that is gone. Now just Phil and Dylan trying to out-stupid each other. No thanks, give the show Mercy death. NOW!
Used t0 be funny, but hasn’t been for the last couple years. Should be cancelled.
Just spitballin’ here (as Phil says) but the series finale could possible reveal, at last, the documentary crew that has been filming them all these years. There is a lot of comedic possibility; the families could find out they believed the documentary was to a certain goal but there is an actual, more embarrassing goal; the documentary makers are losing their finance in the 11th hour, and what the families might do to ensure their film legacy is completed; the documentary makers are involved in an accident/have contracted some terrible contagious disease that takes them out just as they are… Read more »
I really have a crush on Rico Rodriguez, he makes my heart flutter when I see him. Rico Rodriguez is so cute, he’s a cute young teen at heart. Lots of love for Rico. Love to see both Rico Rodriguez and Rico Rodriguez on a future episode of Sesame Street next year. Rico Rodriguez is really hot all over the globe. Love to see Rico in a Diet Pepsi commercial remake from 1987 when Rico gets so mad when he sees no Diet Pepsi in his refrigerator, jumps out of the back window in his apartment into the pouring rain,… Read more »
I really have a crush on Sarah Hyland, she makes my heart flutter when I see her. Ariel Winter is so cute, she’s a cute young teen at heart. Lots of love for Ariel. Love to see both Sarah Hyland and Ariel Winter on a future episode of Sesame Street next year. Sofia Vergara is really hot all over the globe. Love to see Sofia in a Diet Pepsi commercial remake from 1987 when Sofia gets so mad when she sees no Diet Pepsi in her refrigerator, jumps out of the back window in her apartment into the pouring rain,… Read more »
This show sucks – I am amazed that there are so few comments on it. If it’s so popular, why aren’t the fans writing in to praise it? There isn’t one thing I like about this show. Al Bundy is disgusting to watch. Pairing him with that beauty and making like they have a real relationship is repugnant to most women I know. I don’t even know where to begin with this show. It just goes to show how far American Society has slid down if this is so popular. Thank goodness for “The Middle” – That is a brilliant… Read more »
I would like to see reruns of Modern Family to air on Lifetime beginning in 2015.
[…] season, Modern Family’s ratings were even better than the year before. Will they continue to grow or could they possibly […]
When is “Modern Family”‘s season finale? It’s always up to episode 22.
I mean it’s “already” up to episode 22.
@Jeff: There are 24 episodes in the season. I believe it finishes on 5/19.
A lot of your information regarding the character’s names are wrong. Claire’s last name is Dunphy not Delgado and Mitchell’s last name is Pritchett.
@Bill: Thanks for pointing that out. The description was written well before the show debuted and was based on limited information. It’s been updated.
