What’s This TV Show About?
An Ovation Victorian mystery drama, Murdoch Mysteries stars Yannick Bisson, Hélène Joy, Jonny Harris, Thomas Craig, and Lachlan Murdoch The Canadian series centers on William Murdoch (Bisson) — a good-looking, innovative Toronto detective. Murdoch uses fingerprinting, UV Light, and trace evidence in his investigations. Working alongside him to crack the city’s grizzliest murders are pathologist Dr. Julia Ogden (Joy) and Constable George Crabtree (Harris) — Murdoch’s righthand man. In the US, the first 11 seasons ran as The Artful Detective.
Murdoch Mysteries has been renewed for a 13th season on Ovation which will debut on February 1, 2020. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Ovation ratings can be hard to get, and without them it is difficult to predict whether Ovation will cancel or renew Murdoch Mysteries for season 13. This is a Canadian TV series though (it also streams on Acorn), and CBC has already picked up the 13th season, so the smart money says an Ovation renewal is likely. Sometimes, we don’t hear about the US renewals of Canadian TV series until the US outlet announces a premiere date, but I’ll update this page when we know more. I love the show leave it on I’m waiting to see what happens with Murdoch and his love for Julia. I hope he meets her and proposes to her and they live happily ever after I truly love the show I watch the entire series.

As long as the storyline is as good as it has been, I definitely want Murdoch Mysteries to be renewed.
This is a superb rendering of law enforcement in Toronto in the early 20th century, often done with humor and some supposition. It’s interesting to see the interpersonal relationship development of the primary characters, and the introduction of people famous in their day. Also, the settings and costumes are quite realistic. A great show!
We love the show and hope Ovation gets season 13. We have watched the show since the USA started showing it on PBS. The stories and history lessons are so fun!
PLEASE don’t cancel Murdoch Mysteries!! It is the best show on now.Has al the right elements to keep a viewer wanting more. In fact I wish Ovation would show the series again from season one forward. Love the show.
