What’s This TV Show About?
A Starz time travel drama, Outlander stars Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall and Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser. The cast also includes Tobias Menzies, Duncan Lacroix, Lotte Verbeek, Laura Donnelly, Steven Cree, Grant O’Rourke, Richard Rankin, and Sophie Skelton.
Outlander, season three, is based on the third novel in Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander book series, Voyager. It picks up right after Claire (Balfe) leaves Jamie (Heughan) behind in the 18th century. Once she travels through the stones, back to her life in 1948, she has a lot to work out. Now expecting Jamie’s baby, Claire must deal with her first husband, Frank (Menzies), and his reaction to her disappearance and return. Meanwhile, back in time, Jamie struggles with the aftermath of his doomed last stand at the Battle of Culloden, as well as the loss his soul mate.

Telly’s Take
Fans don’t have to worry if Outlander will be cancelled or renewed for season four. Starz already picked up the fourth installment, back in 2016. And although its demo numbers dropped off slightly in season two, the total audience grew. Since Starz relies on paid subscribers, not ad revenue, it cares more about the latter measure. 5/9/2018 update: Starz has renewed Outlander for season five and season six. Season four will debut on a date TBD in November 2018. Details here.

What do you think? Did you think the Outlander TV show would be renewed beyond the fourth season? How would you feel if Starz had cancelled this TV series, instead?
I have Starz because of Outlander! This show better keep on going!!! Best thing on TV!!!!
I bought starz subscription Just for getting Outlander. If they cancel I will cancel my subcription. It is all I watch on any channel regularly.
Awesome show!!
I would cancel my Starz subscription. I hope there is an outlander 5.
I want seasons ever as Diana writes OUTLANDER!!!!
The reason that I subscribe to Starz is to watch Outlander. I can’t imagine that the administrators of Starz would be stupid enough to cancel outlander. I love watching the series and the changes made to the books which can be a departure from the books, but are done to expedite staying true to the story line. If they do cancel it, I always have the books, but Starz will no longer have my subscription.
If Outlander were to be cancelled, I would no longer subscribe to Starz.
I loved the books. This show, the writers, and actors have exceeded all of my expectations. I have made one trip to Scotland because of the books and show, and I’m planning a girls trip in 2018 for my birthday.
Seriously the smartest and most enjoyable show on TV. I only watch Outlander and This Is Us.
Cancel the show already!!
Just discovered Outlander a month ago. Binge watched to catch up. This show totally sweeps one away through every emotion possible. A true life romance that the audience is allowed to be swept into. It is now the talk around the water cooler at work and spreading- for those of us who believe that past lives are possible -may it never end!
Was disappointed Outlander was moved to Sunday night since Sunday is known for all day football. I love this show even if I have to record and watch it at different times.
With everything going on with the NFL I don’t mind missing the games.
I enjoy this series hugely. I think it has real ‘grope’ – that is, rich texture, the feel of reality, terrific acting, lots of action. It puts me in 18th century Scotland, France etc. The costumes – save for exceptional over-the-top French dresses for Claire – feel true to life, including the hunting tartan kilts. I am grateful.
I subscribe to the Star app year round in support of Outlander!! The best show on TV!!
I do too. I totally agree with you. I have encouraged family and friends to watch and they are all Outlander converts.
So did I!!!!!
I would be crushed if Outlander was cancelled. It is, by far, the best historical series on TV today.
I love outlander. I have read the books multiple times and also have it on DVD. It is very well acted and keeps close to the books but changes slightly to fit the time constraints. The actors are perfectly cast. They deserve an Emmy
I only subscribe to the STARZ app because of the OUTLANDER series. I can not get cable where I live and I am older that your demo range. Remember there are other age ranges than 18-48 for your demographics. That range do live events more, concerts, sporting, races, etc. I’m an avid reader, so watching OUTLANDER or the White Queen that are based on books are enjoyable.
I live in U.K. and I would love to help to improve ratings for Outlander even further.
Does anyone know is there a way I can help that?
I love this show to bits. I think this is one of the most underrated series on TV right now.
I agree with you, Henrietta. I just wish the BBC had taken up the show although it’s great that More4 had the faith to screen it, and will hopefully follow up with season 2 etc. I’ve been lucky enough to be able to watch seasons 1 and 2 on Amazon Prime and am saving up season 3 episodes for a binge at Christmas! I agree it would be great if we could let the powers that be know there are many many people who would want the series to continue, preferably through all the books, like Game of Thrones!
Much better than GoT. I read the books.
