What’s This TV Show About?
A CBS crime drama from creators Frank Spotnitz and David Vainola, Ransom stars Luke Roberts, Sarah Greene, Brandon Jay McLaren, and Nazneen Contractor. The mystery thriller centers on crisis and hostage negotiator Eric Beaumont (Roberts). He and his team save lives which often seem beyond saving, in part, because Eric understands criminals better than they understand themselves. Exploiting his powers of manipulation, Eric eschews using violence, even in the most dangerous kidnappings and ransom cases. Psych-profiler Oliver Yates (McLaren), former police officer Zara Hallam (Contractor), and investigator Maxine Carlson (Greene) form the team that backs up Beaumont.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Ransom averaged a 0.26 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.45 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 39% and 29%, respectively. Find out how Ransom stacks up against the other CBS TV shows.
Ransom has been renewed for a third season which will debut February 16, 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Will CBS cancel or renew Ransom for season three? The show has done well internationally so it could be renewed with or without CBS’ interest in a third season. On Saturday nights, Ransom draws about the same ratings as CBS’ “crimetime” reruns so I suspect they’d have to get a good deal to purchase another season. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for free Ransom cancellation or renewal alerts.
7/16/18 update: Ransom has been renewed for a third season on CBS. Details here.

Renew Ransom

Random SHOULD be renewed. It’s smart, great cast and fabulous international settings.
It is an extremely interesting and powerful show. It is intelligent and not the same police cop show that is always the same. I find it highly entertaining.
Keep Random
yes, Ransom should be renewed
This show is great maybe if it was not on Saturday evening it might have better ratings
This is a very entertaining series. There are so few that are worthy of a returning series status. It would be such a shame to cancel such an entertaining series. And is that not the goal? Entertainment?
I think Ransom should definitely be renewed. All the actors are great and the stories are very exciting. Please with season 3.
Please for season 3 of Ransom. Do not cancel it. I will be crushed if it does.
Great show. do not cancel

This show is excellent. My household looks forward to when the show airs. PLEASE, PLEASE don’t cancel it. My suggestion if your decision is based on ratings is to do better promotion for this show and maybe select a better night in which it airs.
This show is excellent, I look forward to it each week,,,as long as the writers keep being creative and current,, show shows unending longevity
Get rid of realty shows. Keep Random. The story lines are valuable. Lots of different ways to negotiate.
