Ray Donovan just wrapped its seventh season, but will there be an eighth? Recently, star Liev Schreiber and Showtime chief Gary Levine discussed the future of the TV show, Deadline reports.
The drama series stars Schreiber as the titular Ray Donovan, a professional fixer who’s working to be the man his family needs him to be. The cast also includes Alan Alda, Zach Grenier, Jon Voight, Dash Mihok, Eddie Marsan, Pooch Hall, Kerris Dorsey, and Graham Rogers.
During this year’s winter TCA press conference, Showtime boss Gary Levine suggested Ray Donovan is “nearing the end of its run”:
I think Ray Donovan is nearing the end of its run. We always talked about seven or eight seasons. Nothing has been decided yet but it’s fair to say it is nearing the end.”
Meanwhile, Liev Schreiber is hoping for an eighth season. On his Instagram, the star urged fans to reach out to Showtime to renew the series:

So delightful! Full of passion and funny and excitement all in one. The whole cast just fits perfectly. I feel sad when it is not on. I look forward to Sundays! I feel the show should go past Season 8. It keeps getting better. It is hard to find any good shows in todays society amd Ray Donovan nails it!!!

Love this show! Cannot wait until Sunday every week.it is why I have Showtime. Feel like the characters are family! Sucks you right in and just want to keep watching over and over. Definitely should not stop now…even at season 8. Seems to me that people love it and why stop something so good? Thanks to all involved. Liev is a great actor. On point!

Ray Donovan is the best show ever! I have never been so excited about a tv show before! It makes you feel a part of the show and the characters are amazing. No reason to stop now! I feel like it is getting more anf more popular! My favorite show EVER. I can even watch episodes over and over and still get that excited feeling inside. #raydonovanrocks!
