Resident Alien fans will see fewer episodes of season three than anticipated. Deadline reports that Syfy has cut the number of episodes for season three by a third, from 12 to eight installments. The second season of 16 episodes concluded in September.
Starring Alan Tudyk, Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Elizabeth Bowen, Alice Wetterlund, Levi Fiehler, and Judah Prehn, the Syfy series follows an alien (Tudyk) who crashes on Earth with a mission to kill all humans, but things change as he spends time on the planet.
The comedy series was renewed for a third season of 12 episodes in July, ahead of the premiere of the second half of season two in August. The ratings dropped from the first half of the season, which is a possible reason for fewer episodes being produced.
A premiere date for season three of Resident Alien will be announced later.

Great show, good writing…the ratings drop in last 1/2 season 2 due to long break AND LITTLE TO NO ADVANCED ADVERTISING OF THE SCHEDULE BREAK. Go back to 12 and advise/hype the public.
This is a fantastic show, not only because it features an alien as its top character, but because the interplay of the actors is so good and believable by today’s standards. It feels like some of the best quality TV series I’ve ever seen, but is even better because of the beautiful juxtaposition of the characters dealing with an extremely unusual premise. Please tell everyone you know to find, watch and record this series. They’ll never regret it.
We love this show and can’t wait for it to come back on . It is so funny . I can’t believe they are thinking of canceling it , what the hell. Please don’t cancel the show .
This is my favorite show! I have gotten most of my friends addicted to this show but not only that but my parents and sisters absolutely love it.. I am in my 30s and my parents are in there late 70s so it’s fun for all adult ages! Please dont cancel the show! It’s my favorite!
Maybe if you quit ******** around with whether its on or off people would know when to watch it. Good original humor. Keep it on you management idiots.

Love love love Resident Alien! It is the only show that gets my whole family together to watch it (including my 34 yr old son comes over to watch it with us and that’s REALLY saying something!
