Rookie Blue was cancelled after the end of its sixth season on ABC. There will not be a seventh season for fans to enjoy. However, there were plans for season seven already in place for the series that starred Missy Peregrym.
Sherry White spoke about her plans for season seven of Rookie Blue. She was taking over the series as showrunner from Tassie Cameron. TV Junkies shared her comments.
She said:
“The new season was going to start about six months later. So when the series was to restart, Sam and Andy had been married for six months, and a new batch of Rookies were starting out at 15 Division. The series was really exploring how to find your independence; within relationships, on the job, when you are used to working with others. We were going to explore this in many ways. Oliver (Matt Gordon) was going to be newly single. Dov (Gregory Smith) was going to be without Chris (Travis Milne–who was not going to be a part of Season 7).”
As for the new rookies, she revealed that it was planned that one of them would be killed on the first day on the job. That would have an impact on the other characters.
As for Sam and Andy, their relationship would have been explored. They would not have complete wedded bliss six months in, and White planned to explore what was next for the couple.

I’m so devastated there isn’t a new season. My mom and I look forward to watching to together every week and it’s my summer go to show. I’ve fallen in love with all the characters over the years. Please bring Rookie Blue back!

I wish so much for rookie blue to be brought back, I looked forward to watching it each week, each episode drew viewers in like myself and left us wanting more so I really think it should be brought back same as mysteries of Laura both great programmes

No a season 7 even though you have it or yes? You should bring it back great show. Again I wonder who makes these decisions there is just to much violence, Horror shows etc Rookie Blue was well acted, interesting as as usual cancelled because the ‘younger’ people wouldn’t know a great show if it fell in their lap!
Pay attention to what the viewers including me have to say about Rookie Blue and Nashville. I agree with everyone that doesn’t want those shows cancelled but to bad it falls on deaf ears.

It’s truly ashame that Rookie Blue was cancelled after season 6. My wife and I were faithful watchers. I hope maybe my message and other messages like this might help ABC change their minds.
It’s a shame that Rookie Blue was cancelled. I really enjoyed this show. What ABC needs to do is cancel ridiculous shows like The Bachelor/Bachelorette.

Yeah, I’m definitely a Rookie Blue fanatic! I can’t stand the fact that it’s been canceled! Same for Nashville! I’m afraid ABC will definitely lose ratings soon! Too many canceled shows that people enjoy! I don’t know what to say…
I absolutely love Rookie Blue and look forward to watching every week. It is a terrific show with great characters. I’m very upset that it is not being renewed for season 7. I just don’t understand why good shows are cancelled and yet more reality shows keep popping up. Please reconsider bringing Rookie Blue back for a seventh season.
