The end is near for the Shameless TV show. Showtime has renewed the show for an 11th and final season. The final 12 episodes will begin airing Summer 2020.
According to Showtime’s co-president of entertainment, Gary Levine, the 10th season cast is set to return. There’s hope that Emmy Rossum will return before the end.
Here’s the renewal announcement from Showtime:

“The characters of SHAMELESS have brought SHOWTIME viewers more laughs and tears and pure enjoyment than any program in our history,” said Levine. “While we are sad to bid the Gallaghers farewell, we couldn’t be more confident in the ability of showrunner John Wells, his writing team and this great cast to bring our series to its appropriately ‘SHAMELESS’ conclusion.”
“I’m unbelievably thankful for all of the years of support from Gary Levine and everyone at Showtime that’s allowed us to make Shameless,” said Executive Producer John Wells “It’s been a fantastic experience and all of us in the cast and crew have had a wonderful time following the lives of the Gallagher family and friends. What do you think? Are you a fan of the Shameless TV show on Showtime? Do you think that season 11 is a good time to end the show?
I think showtime is insane for canceling Shameless! Why cancel their No.1 show with more than 5.7 viewers a week? I love this show and have watched every single episode and would continue to do so! I think we all need to start a petition to have them continue the series or if nothing else let another network pick up the show.
great show, and i’m wondering if emmy rossum could be persuaded to come back for at least a few “guest appearances” or at least the finale.
One of my favorite series ever sad to see it go! It never gets old or boring. Love all the characters and we were just starting to see Liam come into his full Gallagher.
I don’t want to see Shameless end. I look forward to Sunday nights when the show airs now I have to figure out when the show ends what am I going to watch. I hate reality TV. It’s sad a good show like this is going to end with the 11th season.
I hate to see Shameless end! I have watched every episode from the very beginning.
I love all 10 seasons, but it’s getting repetitious. Shameless needs to be canceled. It’s getting a little boring. Going over the same Old stuff.
They should do season 11, and make a movie as the finale.
In my opinion it’s time to wrap it up. Just wasn’t the same after Fiona left.
Thought maybe when Emmy left that the show would lose it’s mojo but this isn’t the case.
Love love love this show and all the characters.
They need to keep the seasons going, maybe a spin off.
Who didn’t see this coming? The writers appear to have run out of ideas for further character development and the show is now stale. Bummer. I started watching the (American) show during season 1 while working in Sweden and was instantly hooked. Thanks for many years of enjoyment but it’s time to wrap.
Shameless just isn’t as good without Fiona, the heart and soul of the show.
You right, it’s better, last 2/3 seasons with her in it become boring and crap – now that she’s gone it’s back to normal – show was blessed with her leaving
Love love love the show Shameless, although my husband says it’s to much for him as he walks through the living room he never sits in out of his man cave,,thankfully the show never fails to disturb him .As for myself I just started watching on Netflix and am already addicted and on season seven on Netflix,, I will be painfully sad when the show has a final season which I hope doesn’t happen any time soon:/ Thank you for a great series
It is too bad this was a show that could last forever, we will miss seeing the crazy antics of the Gallagers and we will miss Shameless
Will truly miss all the cast and characters of Shameless.
