Although Shameless has been a top performer for Showtime, the dramedy is currently in its eighth season and can’t last forever. This year, the cable channel’s introduced a couple of new comedies — White Famous and SMILF. Can these new TV series bring on the laughs and reel in the viewers? Will SMILF be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
A semi-autobiographical series starring creator, writer, and director Frankie Shaw, SMILF also stars Rosie O’Donnell and Miguel Gomez. The Showtime cast also includes Anna Chanel Reimer, Alexandra Mary Reimer, Samara Weaving, Connie Britton, Blake Clark, Raven Goodwin, Kimberly Crossman, Mark Webber, and Mia Kaplan. The story centers on Bridgette Bird (Shaw), a working class, South Boston single mother. Although she is striving to provide a better beginning for her son (played by the Reimer twins), Larry Bird (named for the former Boston Celtics player), she still has to do some growing up of her own.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

LOVE LOVE LOVE SMILF 5 OUT 5 STAR RATING WOULD LOVE TO SEE 15 SEASONS OF SMILF I TOLD ALL MY FRS ABOUT THIS AWESOME SHOW
Absolute garbage. It may mimmick real life but we don’t need to see that on TV. Shows you have far in the trash can America has gone. Let’s get back to decency on TV. Would never have Showtime just for this reason. Rant over.
It’s garbage – basically inane single-mom trite with no redeeming qualities.
Great new series. Funny, zany, real life situations. Great comedy writing. Single moms can relate.
Well written scrips on how it is being a young single Mom in todays world. It’s not porn. It’s real life. Many young single Moms can relate. I hope it gets a second season. I love this show. Great ensemble cast.
Love the show and Rose O’Donnell’s character. It is a funny, clever show. Hope it continues, perfectly placed after Shameless.
