The SurrealEstate series originates in Canada, and after the first season, Syfy in the United States decided to pass on the second season. Six months later, the execs reversed their decision. Will history repeat itself if there’s a third season? Will SurrealEstate be cancelled or renewed? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.
A Canadian paranormal drama series, the SurrealEstate TV show stars Tim Rozon, Sarah Levy, Adam Korson, Maurice Dean Wint, Savannah Basley, and Tennille Read. The story follows an elite team of specialists at The Roman Agency who handle the cases no one else can — haunted and possessed houses that literally scare would-be buyers away. Researching, investigating, and “fixing” the things that go bump in the night, the team works to create closure (and closings) even as they struggle with demons of their own. Nick Roman (Rozon) is the owner and has gained a whispered reputation as someone who could sell the haunted houses that nobody else could. Susan Ireland (Levy) is an enormously successful realtor who doesn’t believe in ghosts or hauntings. Father Phil Orley (Korson) is the agency’s research specialist while August Ripley (Wint) specializes in technology, and Zooey L’Enfant (Basley) serves as the agency’s office manager. Meanwhile, Megan Donovan (Read) is a medical student who has inherited a house from her grandfather.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances of survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: Season one of SurrealEstate on Syfy averaged a 0.06 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 315,000 viewers.
Note: These are the final national ratings, including all live+same day viewing and DVR playback (through 3:00 AM). Early fast affiliate ratings (estimates) are indicated with an “*”. While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but typically the higher-rated series are renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled.
What do you think? Do you like the SurrealEstate TV series on Syfy? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
*2/15/24 update: SurrealEstate has been renewed for a third season on Syfy.
Bring on season 3!!!!!!
I was truly displeased when they cancelled SurrealEstate after just one season because they left it on a cliffhanger. I would like to see just how much further Syfy and CTV Sci Fi can go with this show. And I need to see at least 2 or 3 more seasons to understand the full scope of Susan Ireland’s amazing powers.
I hope that everybody involved with this show will keep right on going with the stories of Luke Roman and his crack team of specialists.
I didn’t know season 2 had come out! This show is my OMG new favorite tv show. PLEASE PLEASE renew this show! It is so good! There are so many shows out there that people haven’t found yet. Have faith! This is an amazing show!! Plus, who doesn’t love Doc without the mustache.
I found season 2 superior to season 1 and left me looking forward to the next episode. It is one of the best shows on TV that is not a rerun. I hope they will bring it back. I am wondering why they lost 3 of the regular cast members.
I love this show! It is unique. I think the one thing that hurt the show in the 2nd season was Roman losing his powers. It had a dulling effect for the show. As soon as he connected with his mother and got his powers back the show was interesting again. The first season had all the strengths of the characters in place. The second season did not and it became a show about normal realtors and not as much about their strengths.
