While This Is Us is NBC’s biggest drama in years, and Dick Wolf’s Chicago and Law & Order franchises are mainstays, the Peacock Network could use another unqualified hit. This year, New Amsterdam has done well enough to score a renewal, while the the future of Manifest is still up in the air. Enter The Enemy Within TV show. Does this mid-season drama have what it takes to make a splash in the Nielsen ratings? Will The Enemy Within be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
An NBC psychological thriller, the first season of The Enemy Within stars Jennifer Carpenter, Morris Chestnut, Raza Jaffrey, Kelli Garner, Cassandra Freeman, and Noah Mills. The character-based drama centers on former CIA operative and now infamous traitor Erica Shepherd (Carpenter) and FBI Agent Will Keaton (Chestnut). In order to apprehend a looming threat, Keaton must tap Shepherd’s expertise, even though she’s serving a life sentence in a supermax prison.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/21 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Enemy Within TV series? Should NBC cancel or renew it for season two?
*5/30/19 update: NBC has cancelled The Enemy Within TV show after one season.
This show is excellent so of course they will cancel it!!!
Please renew. great show! Jennifer Carpenter is awesome.
Please renew. Morris Chestnut is a wonderful actor in everything he’s done.
I love this show! Please renew.
I love this show…I hope it gets renewed.
I’m starting to like this show less. These FBI agents are so hopelessly inept and incompetent that they can’t do anything without Erica leading them by their noses?
The answer is a resounding “YES!” They couldn’t successfully follow a suspect who was 20 feet ahead of them!
I think they messed up. They should have made episode 8 the first episode. It explained more & I believe they may have retained more of the audience and perhaps could have better ratings right now. I think people would have empathized with what happened to her & the very quick decision that she had to make. episode 8 was also the most exciting episode. I know there is only a very small chance for renewal, but I hope it will happen. It is such a great show!
I like this show.. it has a captivating plot and I want to see it through. I hope it does not get cancelled because another season could draw in more viewers.
One season is enough. It’t not as interesting as the show “Homeland”.
This show is amazing!! Cant miss a episode!!!
LOVE this show! Jennifer Carpenter and the entire cast are phenomenal. Watch or DVR every episode. Please renew!
I love the show so far. Along with Blindspot and Blacklist. Please keep them on the air
Was not expecting to like this — traitors are not people I usually like to spend time watching. But four episodes in? I am hooked. I still hate her, but she’s one hell of an investigator.
I like the first 2 episodes so far…its a bummer that the ratings are pretty low. I think Jennifer Carpenter is an excellent actress and wish she could land a blockbuster show (still bitter about Limitless!! One of the best shows of the last few years).
oops…this is not the ratings for the first episode of The Enemy Within
Thanks for noticing we had the wrong chart.
no problem
