What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network, The Genetic Detective follows investigative genetic genealogist CeCe Moore and her work with DNA technology company Parabon NanoLabs. In the series, Moore and her team revolutionize crime-solving by working with police departments and accessible crime scene DNA to help trace the path of a criminal suspect’s family tree, uncover their identity and bring them to justice. Since 2018, Moore has used her unique research skills to transform the face of crime-solving, helping to identify more than 100 violent criminal suspects.

Telly’s Take
The ratings for this show were pretty low. Moore has a solid following and the series seems inexpensive to produce but there’s been no word of it being renewed after more than two years. The show’s also been removed from ABC’s press site. There’s always a possibility that Genetic Detective could be revived for a second season but, for now, it appears to be done. Yes it should be renewed. Not only is it great to watch but I learn something from each episode. I’m a product of the 50’s so I don’t watch the TV that much because most of it is crap. This I watch.
Please please please bring the Genetic Detective back !!!

I hope that the new show will be able to stay on new shows programs that are going to be on again. It’s so interesting watching Technology catch some bad guys. It’s just unbelievable how moore can go back through the family trees and trace it back to the person that committed the crime.
Genealogy has been a hobby of mine. When autosomal DNA was made available on ancestry.com I was part of a group that assisted a cousin in identifying his natural parents. I have enjoyed watching use of this technique in criminal investigation. I am looking forward to new episodes.

I watch very little television because most of it is mindless garbage. I’d rather read a book. BUT, I absolutely LOVED Genetic Detective. I have been watching my TV Guide to see if there will be a second season of CeCe. PLEASE, and PRETTY PLEASE, I beg you to bring it/her back soon. I’ve waiting rather impatiently. I did let all of my friends know that I actually had found a show worthy of my time and attention. Some of them tuned in and also liked the show.
Definitely renew this show. It is by far the best new season show out . I love this show and all the new science etc etc etc. Let alone Ce Ce is a fascinating person and her work so interesting. Please do not cancel this show.
Keep Genetic detective !! It’s suspenseful, informative, problem solving, emotional, True stories, basically everything a person could want in a show that isn’t into dorky sitcoms.
The genetic Dr. is Excellent. Also The Good Doctor. There were only 6 episodes. Every one I told about the show started watching. That has never happened before. Please renew!
I just watched all of Season 1. I’m hooked. I love this show & I’m hoping it’ll come back on TV! If ABC doesn’t pick it up … I am hoping another network will.
