The Gifted TV show won’t be back for a third season on FOX. The network cancelled the X-Men universe drama two months after its season two finale. Reportedly, there exists some chance that the Marvel series could return someday to a Disney-owned outlet, but nothing is currently in the works.
A FOX superhero drama, The Gifted stars Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford, Natalie Alyn Lind, Percy Hynes White, Skyler Samuels, and Grace Byers. Based on a Marvel Comics alternate timeline, the show follows two ordinary parents with mutant children who go on the run from the government and join an underground community of mutants.
The Gifted: A Look at the Ratings
The second season of The Gifted on FOX averaged a 0.59 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.95 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 41% and 41%, respectively. In terms of its demo numbers, it ranked 15th out of the 16 scripted FOX TV shows we’re tracking. When sorted by total audience it dropped to last place, just behind the comedy, Rel, which was also cancelled today.
The family adventure series, set in Marvel’s X-Men universe, comes from 20th Century Fox TV, which now is part of Disney.
I hear that there have been no real conversations but there is a chance for The Gifted to find a new home within the Disney family. The show is produced by Marvel Television, which currently has series on Disney-owned Freeform and Disney-controlled Hulu. (Disney+’s Marvel series come from the company’s movie division.)

I loved gifted but a little afraid of what it might turn into if it were on Disney. The reason why I love the show is because of their rough characters, and with all that killing involved it’s hard to believe Disney would keep that in there for children. I would much rather CW pick it up!
Please do not cancel Season 3 of The Gifted. I don’t enjoy very many TV shows currently running, but The Gifted was my favorite show along with 2 or 3 more programs. Thank you in advance for returning this program to TV.

I am very disappointed with the cancellation. It’s not fair just because the ratings were down does not mean people don’t like the show. It’s not fair you take it away from the people that love the show!!!!
The Gifted was my #1 show in TV…I was always waiting for it to premiere new seasons and episodes…its really sad that FOX canceled it because I think it was the best thing on there…I’ve been waiting now for it to come back because so much happened and with Clarice coming back and everything I think that a lot of people would continue watching it…please bring it back
Was a great show and different than anything else out there. Loved watching it and seeing what would happen next. It is a shame to see good television like this get canned while crap like The Voice and Dancing with the Starts keeps getting renewed over and over.
TV companies want to bring in viewers, then they need to bring us new and interesting shows like The Gifted.
I am very disappointed that it has been canceled it was the best series on tv since Bones. Yes I would definitely watch it on Disney. I really want to see season three please give us the opportunity.

Please renew this show on any network. This was one of the best shows on television. It was just finding its real place in the world.
