The Kids Are Alright stars Michael Cudlitz, Mary McCormack, Sam Straley, Caleb Foote, Sawyer Barth, Christopher Paul Richards, Jack Gore, Andy Walken, and Santino Barnard. The 1970s-period comedy centers on the Clearys, an Irish-Catholic family living on the outskirts of Los Angeles. Since its the ’70s, Peggy (McCormack) and Mike (Cudlitz) are raising their kids with a lack of supervision which might stun today’s parents, and now their eldest son wants to quit the seminary to go “save the world.” The times they are a-changing, and the Cleary family is not immune to the turbulence around them.
Airing on Tuesday nights, the first season of The Kids Are Alright is averaging a 0.87 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.15 million viewers.
Out of the 21 scripted ABC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Kids Are Alright is in 11th place in the demo and 10th place in total viewership.

I cannot believe they are canceling the kids are all right. I love that show! Everyone I know loves that show. Pathetic!
It clearly wasn’t ratings. Even under the stink of cancellation #thekidsarealright beat both Blackish and Bless This Mess on tues night in the demo. One would expect Bless to get a bounce. It bounced like a **** slapping the bottom of the bowl.
By far the best comedy on TV. I’m stunned they cancelled it. Not many shows cause you to laugh out load (often multiple times) when you’re watching. The cast was great, the writing was fantastic. This really sucks. I’d love to see another network or streaming service pick it up.

The writing is one of the best. I am disappointed it’s being canceled. I remember 12 years ago when no one was watching The Big Bang Theory. I think ABC is making an error. Love this show.
The Kids Are Alright is a very funny show! My husband and I laugh every week watching it–other shows had a slow start and ended up big hits–hope Netflix or Amazon can pick up the show–one of the funniest shows on tv
The Kids Are Alright was so funny, my husband and I laughed every time it aired–how sad that ABC didn’t give it a second season–there was so much more for the Cleary’s to do–Seinfeld wasn’t a hit but it became a big hit–why does this show not get a chance?
Absolutely terrific show. Best writing of a sitcom on network TV for last season, and that includes “Modern Family,” “Blackish,” and “The Connors.”
I wish Netflix would buy this show and continue it. There’s so much more that could be tackled in this show.

This is the best show on ABC and I can’t believe it was cancelled. If ABC is stupid enough to cancel it so quickly than I hope another network picks it up because it would be a big loss to lose this funny and talented show. Big mistake to cancel

This was the best comedy on television. It made me actually laugh out loud which hadnt happened since King of Queens or MASH. My heart is broken. I will miss the Clearys.
