The Kids Are Alright stars Michael Cudlitz, Mary McCormack, Sam Straley, Caleb Foote, Sawyer Barth, Christopher Paul Richards, Jack Gore, Andy Walken, and Santino Barnard. The 1970s-period comedy centers on the Clearys, an Irish-Catholic family living on the outskirts of Los Angeles. Since its the ’70s, Peggy (McCormack) and Mike (Cudlitz) are raising their kids with a lack of supervision which might stun today’s parents, and now their eldest son wants to quit the seminary to go “save the world.” The times they are a-changing, and the Cleary family is not immune to the turbulence around them.
Airing on Tuesday nights, the first season of The Kids Are Alright is averaging a 0.87 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.15 million viewers.
Out of the 21 scripted ABC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Kids Are Alright is in 11th place in the demo and 10th place in total viewership.

So sorry this show was canceled. I watched every episode. I could relate to the characters and it sure made me laugh. I think the problem might have been in primarily focusing on Timmy. While a good little actor, the standout was older brother Joey. It. Seems the writers also figured this out as the series went on. I’d love to see it picked up by another network and tweaked just a bit.
I hate to hear this show is being cancelled. I really enjoyed watching it! It’s a lot better than most shows on tv right now. Please bring it back!!
I am so upset that Season 2 of Kids are Alright isn’t being renewed! The comedic timing of the lines they said was just hysterical. I honestly laughed out loud with almost every line the “mom and dad” said. How sad…I’m just glad I have old DVR’d episodes to watch. Please rethink your decision!!!
I don’t get it ABC Programing???Why cancel KIDS ARE ALRIGHT funny well scripted and acted show on Comedy Night? Still reeling from the loss of MIDDLE & now this really funny Unique show.

Why cancel this wonderful show? Hopefully another network will pickup the The Kids Are Alright. We need more comedy based shows, our country is divided and laughter will help. Many good shows start slow but gain momentum in time. Great Show!!!!!
Why do you discontinue so many programs I like? A 49-year-old may not appreciate this show the way I did, a 69-yr-old. But I realize my age group matters no more.

I love this show. It is a wonderful show showing the love of a family. There were no “nasty” scenes. It is the only one of the comedy shows that I tune into. The rest don’t appeal to me at all. I will really, really miss this show. I wish another network would pick it up. The writing is wonderful and the acting is spectacular. I wish that there were more shows like this.

I think the cancellation of this show really stinks! My husband and I love it! We group up in the 80s when the comfort of a sitcom was something you look forward to weekly! This is what this show has become for us! It’s perfectly casted and the storylines are full of humor and life lessons. Why can’t anything good just be left alone? I say we create a petition to keep this heartwarming and hilarious show going!
