Is there still a future for The Kids Are Alright? Recently, star Mary McCormack spoke with The Los Angeles Times about her efforts to save the cancelled ABC TV show.
Set in the 1970s, the sitcom centers on the Clearys, an Irish-Catholic family living on the outskirts of Los Angeles. The cast includes Michael Cudlitz, Mary McCormack, Sam Straley, Caleb Foote, Sawyer Barth, Christopher Paul Richards, Jack Gore, Andy Walken, and Santino Barnard.
In the interview, McCormack says she thinks ABC cancelled The Kids Are Alright before its time:
It feels too short. It’s hard to get something really funny and nuanced and moving, and I thought our show was all those things. There’s a lot of stuff I don’t understand about how shows find new homes, but you do hear about it. And I guess because you hear about it, your fans think there’s hope. There are just so many networks now — networks I’ve never heard of. So I’m still holding out a little hope that someone will look at us and see we’re like the already housebroken cute shelter pet that needs someone to adopt them.”

This was my favorite new show in awhile. I usually watched the show the same night it was on even if I DVRd it. I’m probably near the age of Timmy or William and it just felt right.
Please save this show!! I absolutely loved it!!! Brought back many memories of that time but with a lot more humor.
This was my favorite network show of the past five years. I grew up in the 1970s—also a free range teenager (Catholic, but a creative troublemaker like Joey). The writing and acting were superior to other sitcoms, most of which I abandoned after two episodes. It was hilarious and authentically vintage: a winning combination.
The kids are alright is a great show worthy of being saved! It was casted perfectly and the writing was witty. A show enjoyed by my entire family. We still rewatch and always pick up something new. #savethekidsarealright
I love The Kids are Alright and I have watched the episodes over and over. I will never ever understand why it was cancelled. I would love to see more seasons of this amazing TV show.

I love this The kids are alright my whole family enjoys it we didn’t even know it was showing until halfway through the season that’s the way it seems to work so many shows you never know what to watch until it’s gone please keep the show on I know people would really enjoy it especially the people that grew up in the 70s.
