Will John and his fellow officers survive the second season of The Rookie TV show on ABC? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like The Rookie is cancelled or renewed for season three. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the second season episodes of The Rookie here. *Status update below.
An ABC A police drama, The Rookie TV show stars Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Titus Makin Jr., Melissa O’Neil, and Eric Winter. The series follows the experiences of John Nolan (Fillion), a middle-aged divorced man from Pennsylvania. He owns a construction company but decides to give up his old life to pursue a new career as a police officer in the Los Angeles Police Department. He graduates from the Police Academy and becomes the oldest rookie on the force. He works with Sergeant Wade Grey (Jones), training officers Angela Lopez (Diaz) and Tim Bradford (Winter), and fellow rookies Jackson West (Makin Jr.) and Lucy Chen (O’Neil). As season two begins, John is six months into his career as a cop and is put to the test by new challenges, romantic relationships, and potentially deadly situations.

*5/21/20 update: The Rookie has been renewed for a third season on ABC.
As usual, count on the networks to cancel the best of the best. This show provides compassion, educational info, great humor and shows men acting like kind humans (at least more so tho than the nightly news.. I am done!!!! with commercial tv. PS writers are the very best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This show was cancelled? I hope not.
Love the show.
Don’t cancel the Rookie. Show is great with Castle.
This Rookie has become one of my favorites. Watch it every week! Love all the characters especially Nathan Fillion.
I enjoy watching this series, cast is great and stories are always exciting. Don’t cancel!!!
One of the few police based shows I’ve enjoyed. Almost as good as Rookie Blue. 9.5
Rookie is great. Keep it going. Characters coming together nicely.
Please DO NOT cancel this show!!! It is the only show my 25 year old son watches with his 52 year old mom. We LOVE this show!!!!
Personally think The Rookie is the best written show currently on TV and sure do look forward to many seasons to come. Nathan Fillion is a terrific actor and he has been surrounded by other terrific actors. Just so sorry his original training officer did not renew. The new one seems like she is going to really good.
Renewed! I love this show. The character development and relationships are really entertaining. Nathan Fillion does a very good job at becoming a good cop and nice person!
I am enjoying season 2-i find the program entertaining -i think Nathan F is charastetic
I really like 5his show but the Oct. 20 show was unbelievable and not in a good way. I hope the show doesn’t continue like this.
Sucks that he lost his TO. I liked that actress and her character. My brother agrees!! Bring her back.
Love this show. I even leave Walking Deat at 9:55, tape the end, watch Rookie, then go back and watch the end of WD and Talking Dead. Wouldn’t miss a minute of Rookie – always tape to rewatch next day, just in case I might have missed something. I have loved Nathan Fillion since Castle – and miss it every day, but, like someone else said, I tape every rerun of Castle on ABC (Sunday middle of night) and TNT, though disappointed that suddenly, after appx 10 years, TNT seems to have stopped showing them.
This is one of only 2 shows I watch on ABC, (the other bring Stumptown) and I have totally enjoyed it from the start. I think the ensemble is excellent and the TOs really carry themselves in a professional manner (while still human). I wasn’t sure how this series would be when it started but it’s really much more intense and dramatic than I expected with occasional goofy levity (Fillion’s niche) thrown in to relive tension. And that is a good thing. This ain’t Castle redux, this is the real deal. Very entertaining and not cliched. Just when you thing… Read more »
