Tommy won’t be back on patrol next season. CBS just announced that the network has cancelled the cop drama and won’t be ordering a second season for the 2020-21 broadcast season.
The Tommy series revolves around a former high-ranking NYPD officer who becomes the first female chief of police for Los Angeles. Abigail “Tommy” Thomas (Edie Falco) uses unflinching honesty and hardball tactics to keep social, political, and national security issues from hindering effective law enforcement in the Southland. The CBS drama also stars Michael Chernus, Adelaide Clemens, Thomas Sadoski, Russell G. Jones, Olivia Lucy Phillip, Joseph Lyle Taylor, and Vladimir Caamaño.
Airing on Thursday nights, the first season of Tommy averages a 0.49 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.85 million viewers. The cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise as the drama is the network’s lowest-rated scripted series.
The 12th and final installment of Tommy airs tomorrow night.

Once again, another show gone that I loved!
Why oh why this was a good show with great story lines and acting that was superb. Each episode kept you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Even though it was a Police Show it had NO bad language and very little grotesque scenes to make you look away!
So please bring Tommy back, you won’t be sorry.

I am really disappointed that there won’t be a second season of Tommy. It was my special watching show on Thursday nights. I believe you’ve made a big mistake with cutting this one from your roster. Hoping you change your minds and pick it back up. Edie Falco was stunning in this role!
Of course it’s cancelled. I thoroughly enjoyed it! At least it seems that way. Really a good show. Really great actress.
Tommy is the best that I had seen. Now that’s it’s getting more interesting CBS has stop it . If CBS is not updating a tv show don’t show it at all. Waist of time to watch a tv show that it not will be renewed. There is a lot tv shows that’s not word it and still has been renewed.
We really enjoyed Tommy. It’s a shame that is wasn’t renewed. It had a great cast and good writing. Let’s get this back, peeps!
What is up with CBS it cancelled 7 shows i watch. Loved Tommy it was a great new show for a change. Too bad guess nothing left to watch on this network.
I looked forward to this show every week. I was so shocked that a well written program that used both drama and comedy to entertain us had been canceled.
Had CBS given it a second season I think they may’ve had a hit!
My husband and I love this Show and find it upsetting that CBS cancelled it. It seems like CBS cancels good, realistic shows!
Sad to see this show cancelled, probably one of the most real shows on tv lately. Hopefully another network will pick it up
