Vicious has been cancelled by ITV. There will not be a third season of the series. There was speculation earlier this week that the show was being cancelled.
A previous TV Series Finale report talked about the possibility of a cancellation when news of a special for the series was announced.
The Sun has now reported that the one-off special will make the end of the series. A spokesperson for ITC said the following about the end of the series:
“It’s been an absolute delight to see Ian McKellen, Derek Jacobi and Frances de la Tour bring alive these wonderful characters on screen for ITV viewers. We’re over the moon all the cast are returning for one final special.”
Are you sad to hear about the cancellation of Vicious? Tell us what you think.
Just started watching last month and I’m really disappointed that it’s been canceled. I’d gladly donate to PBS to have more!
I really loved this show, and I am sorry that it is being cancelled. I laughed so much at the antics of both Violet, and Freddie Very enjoyable show.
Im very upset i loved this show humor upon multiple humor laughed at every line you should bring it back
This is horrible! I saw the “finale” on PBS in Oregon last night…we had just come from gay pride & we were saying how they are my husband & myself & how we hope to be with them in 40 years. We need more programs — gay &/or straight, across the spectrum — focusing on older people. “Grace & Frankie” helps a lot but there was such a delightful charm about this show. Last season we hoped was really setting up a great third run! Hulu, Netflix, pick this up!!!
I am absolutely heart broken that Vicious has ended. This was my Sunday night reprieve from the dull and stressful world in which some of us live. It was funny and heartwarming. This show had the best actors and writers. It was charming and made me laugh out loud. I could relate with the characters and it was my pleasurable escape for 30 minutes on Sunday night. I’m not sure why they would end this show so soon. Was it a problem with the actors not wanting another season. I can’t imagine it was poor viewing records of the public.… Read more »
Thank you for a beautiful comment on Vicious. I, too, watch and re-watch all 15 episodes. Ian McKellan, Derek Jacobi and Frances de la Tour we’re a funny and sweet cast. I miss the series and wish with all my heart the series returns some day.
i am really sad to find out it has ended took the us a while to get the second season. my dvr didn’t record it loke it should have.I never laughed so hard. Sure wish the US would pock it up and do it everyone was so great.
I am soooo disappointed in the cancellation. So cleverly written and we’ll acted by everyone. What idiots came up with the idea to cancel.Ohh,,I shall miss them all so very much.Happy I recorded all of them..
Big huge bummer. Smart, witty, brilliant acting from seasoned vets. Each episode was a gem, like watching theater. Too too bad.
I love how EVERY article I see about the show’s cancellation merely says it’s being cancelled but doesn’t give ANY indication why?
Ian, Derek, and Francis have been favorites for years. The other three regulars are also brilliant. I’m very sorry to hear that the show won’t go on. It just begs the question, which ******* made the decision.
We don’t watch much TV…because MOST of it is mindless dribble with no substance or imagination. But, we do love THIS show! It is clever, hilarious, not vulgar nor insulting, has a fantastic cast & should have been renewed many times over. So what if the “ratings” weren’t what someone ordained to be the magic number!! There SHOULD be more to TV than numbers but I guess garbage sells better than wit. A terrible loss to the world of entertainment…it actually WAS entertaining!
Can’t believe it’s going to be over. Netflix, Amazon, Hulu… someone pick this show up and keep it going!! It’s too good a cast, with too much humor to just let it go silently into the abyss! Please, please, please let them make a comeback!!
loved this show have series 1 and 2 will get the final one also, always the same a good funny show without all the sex and vulgarity hits the dirt
very disappointed but not surprised. shows intelligently written & superbly acted
are generally not ratings winners. Unfortunately, the viewing public prefers something more banal. Perhaps another reality show?
You are cancelling one of the funniest shows we had. It was so much better than the vulgar fare available elsewhere. Very sad.
