Although Freeform cancelled its Young & Hungry TV show last month, it’s not all over quite yet. The second half of the fifth and final season of Young & Hungry premieres on Wednesday, Jun 20, 2018 at 8:00pm ET/PT. In addition, the cable network has announced it is developing a Young & Hungry TV movie.
A live-action Freeform comedy, Young & Hungry stars Emily Osment, Jonathan Sadowski, Aimee Carrero, Kym Whitley, and Rex Lee, with Bryan Safi recurring. The sitcom centers on food blogger, Gabi Diamond (Osment), who becomes the personal chef of wealthy tech entrepreneur Josh Xander Kaminski (Sadowski). After they develop feelings for one another, the plot thickens.

Network Orders Development of “Young & Hungry” Movie
Freeform announced today fan-favorite comedy series “Young & Hungry” will return for its final season on Wednesday, June 20 at 8:00 PM EDT/PDT.
The final season (5B) sees Gabi and Josh finally together and in love, but now navigating their new status as a full-fledged couple. Meanwhile, the rest of Josh’s staff, Yolanda and Elliot, are grappling with the change in work dynamic with Gabi as the “woman of the house.” Sofia, Gabi’s best friend, who begins to feel like a third wheel with the new couple, sets out on her own path to find love.
Additionally, Freeform has ordered into development a “Young & Hungry” movie, from the same series creative team including David Holden, Caryn Lucas, Ashley Tisdale, and Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, that will further the adventures of Gabi, Josh and their circle of friends.
“Young & Hungry” is produced by Holden, Lucas, Tisdale, Jessica Rhoades and Eric and Kim Tannenbaum in association with CBS Television Studios. Gabi Moskowitz, of BrokeAssGourmet.com, is a San Francisco-based food blogger and contributed to the development of this project. The series stars Emily Osment, Jonathan Sadowski, Aimee Carrero, Kym Whitley and Rex Lee.
Freeform’s robust slate of original scripted series includes smash hit comedy “grown-ish,” and breakout series “The Bold Type;” along with buddy comedy “Alone Together;” supernatural thriller “Beyond;” “Famous In Love” starring Bella Thorne; critically acclaimed “The Fosters;” sci-fi phenomenon “Shadowhunters;” fan favorite “Young & Hungry;” the upcoming mermaid drama “Siren”, and the eagerly awaited series “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger,” coming in June 2018.

I love this show I binged watched all 5 seasons on Netflix. I agree need a much better ending to wrap things up or proceed with the movie. Everyone one needs alittle Gabby in their lives as well as Josh, Yolanda, Elliott & Lil Soso! So please Netflix continue with the show if the networks drop in. I love and need more YOUNG & HUNGRY!
WTF!!???. I binge watched all 5 seasons just to see it end like this! That was no ending!!!!!! They need to wrap this up properly and do the movie.
After 5 seasons give this show a proper ending. You can’t just leave it like this. I can’t believe I just binge watched all 5 seasons to see this ending. Maybe Netflix should pick it up.
I have watched every season of this show and loved it, even watched a couple seasons twice. The end of Season 5b will be disappointing if there’s not a last and final season 6. I am hoping…….hoping they continue Young and Hungry. Love this show.
I watched this show when it came out then nursing school started & it had to take a backseat. Then I found it on Netflix and watched all 5 seasons in 2 days! Now I’m finding out it’s been cancelled. There should of been a movie but that’s been axed too. So sad! ☹

I love this show! I have watched the whole show like 3 times now and am so sad to hear it is ending on a cliffhanger and won’t be continuing. Really sad.
Very disappointed to binge watch 5 seasons of a show just to find out that’s it’s cancelled. This was a great show and hopefully another network will pick it up so it won’t end!

I will MOST definitely be tuning in for the movie. Hope it makes it’s way to Netflix! I also wish the 6th season would have happened but excited about the 2nd half of the 5th season.
I loved young and hungry. The Gabi and Sophia are my age and I loved seeing the things they go through in life that’s so relatable to actual life scenarios. Shouldn’t have been cancelled. They cancel all the good shows nowadays.
