ABC has renewed Marvel’s Agent of SHIELD TV series for a fourth season. This is one of 15 television shows renewed by ABC, this week.
“We’re very proud of our strong roster of performers, and we’re excited about what they will bring us creatively next season,” said Channing Dungey, President, ABC Entertainment.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” returns for a game-changing fourth season. In the aftermath of their journey to another planet, Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the rest of the team are more driven than ever to put an end to Gideon Malick (guest star Powers Boothe) and the Hydra organization. Little do they know that they are up against the deadliest threat they’ve ever faced – an extremely powerful Inhuman who was transported back from Maveth in the body of their worst enemy, Grant Ward (Brett Dalton).
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Director Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Agent Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie and Luke Mitchell as Lincoln Campbell.
Produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” was co-created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, who also serve as executive producers along with Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb.
The news for sister series, Marvel’s Agent Carter is not nearly so cheery. While the Agent Carter TV series has not yet been cancelled, the executive producer thinks the show’s chances are bad. Check out our story, here.
ABC has also renewed: America’s Funniest Home Videos, The Bachelor, Black-ish, Dancing with the Stars, Fresh Off the Boat, The Goldbergs, Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, The Middle, Modern Family, Once Upon a Time, Scandal, Shark Tank, and Quantico.

I love this but I’m 52 and have been a lover of Marvel since I was about 6-7. All these characters flow so well together and just bring the characters to life. I’m not the only one who loves this show. I hated that Castle was cancelled and still pissed about it. But I can not handle this being cancelled because it’s from my childhood. I love this show! I’m so glad they’re renewing it for season four.
All time favorite show hands down! Season 1 was a slow turn but it’s quickly picked up speed once it got into the very reason we go to the movies for Marvel movies… carter could have been a great show but it took a long time introducing what make Marvel movies captivating. Sad to see it go but very happy for my Agents of Shield!

We love this show & all Marvel’s shows. We are especially disappointed that Agent Carter has been cancelled as well
they stopped showing this show a long time ago in Australia because the local host network kept irking viewers by diluting the product, which lost viewers. this led to people like myself to resort to downloading the show. I can say that after three seasons where my interest has dropped weekly, that I will be giving up on this show after next week’s finale unless it provides something damn good, so the studio will have a slightly smaller gripe about downloading. hey there’s a solution to “piracy”. make your shows so awful that people have no interest in downloading. pity.… Read more »
Season 1 was bland to get through. Season 2 picked up speed. Now with Season 3, I’m obsessed. It’s the only show I even watch TV for anymore. Everything else is Netflix or bust.
I’m upset to see Bobbi and Hunter go, though. If they touch one hair on my beautiful FitzSimmons head I’ll make Hulk look like a girl scout.
After a slow start, I’ve come to really enjoy this show. I love Coulson and the team, well, except maybe Lincoln. Miss Bobbi and Hunter though. Hope it keeps going. #teamWard

I was very happy to hear Agents of Shield had been renewed for another season. I am a 70 year old grandmother who never really got into these types of characters until I started taking my grandsons to The Avengers and all the
other Superhero movies,
This is great!! I love agents of shield. It perfectly blends character development with action drama and interesting plots. Also unlike the flash they don’t overuse cgi.
Horrible news. Agents of SHIELD is easily the worst Marvel production in decades. It’s full of bland characters (except for Coulson), the writing often pathetic, and the most interesting things to happen are hearing the bland characters talk about what the Avengers do in-between movies.
If you wanna watch a good Marvel series, then hit up Netflix sometime.
I never think it’s bad news when a show is renewed. Every show has fans, and they all employ a lot of people, too. That said, I couldn’t get into Agents of SHIELD, myself.
I loved Marvel’s Jessica Jones, SpideyTerry. I tried to get into Daredevil, but I think I do so too soon after watching Jessica Jones. What Marvel series do you like?
