What’s This TV Show About?
An Amazon Prime Video crime thriller, Absentia stars Stana Katic, Patrick Heusinger, Cara Theobold, Neil Jackson, Angel Bonanni, Richard Brake, Ralph Ineson, Paul Freeman, Bruno Bichir, and Patrick McAuley. The drama centers on the mysterious disappearance and return of FBI Special Agent Emily Byrne. While tracking a notorious Boston serial killer, Emily vanishes. Eventually, she is declared dead — presumed to be a victim of Conrad Harlow. Six years later, she’s discovered in a cabin in the woods, clinging to life. Emily returns home to find her husband remarried, and now she’s a suspect in a new string of murders.
Absentia has been renewed for a second season which will debut June 14, 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Unless they decide to publicize its viewership, it is hard to predict whether Amazon will cancel or renew Absentia for season two. I don’t have a strong gut feeling on this one, either way. Absentia not only had great acting it had a great storyline. Very sad it was only 10 episodes cause now it is over and they left me wanting more. Hulu please renew and make your paying customers very happy customers.

I enjoyed season 1 of Absentia, but I feel the story was fully explained and it seemed like it was ended well. I don’t think a season 2 is needed.
The ending is hanging, was Emily the witness in the murder of Harlow? There’s still a lot of story to tell and a lot of questions that needs answers. I hope there will be a Season 2 -Katic really rocks, she is amazing. Season 2 should give justice to Emily.
