What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Amazon subscription service, Absentia stars Stana Katic, Patrick Heusinger, Geoff Bell, Josette Simon, Matthew Le Nevez, Neil Jackson, Natasha Little, Paul Freeman, Patrick McAuley, and Christopher Colquhoun. The drama centers on the mysterious disappearance and return of FBI Special Agent Emily Byrne. While tracking a notorious Boston serial killer, Emily vanishes. Eventually, she is declared dead — presumed to be a victim of Conrad Harlow. Six years later, she’s discovered in a cabin in the woods, clinging to life. Emily returns home to find her husband remarried, and now she’s a suspect in a new string of murders. In season three, with Emily’s suspension from the FBI nearing its end, a criminal case hits close to home, sending her on a dangerous journey that threatens the lives of the family she is desperately trying to hold together.

Telly’s Take
Unless they decide to publicize viewership, it is difficult to predict whether Amazon will cancel or renew Absentia for season four. My suspicion is that in part because it’s shot economically, there will be a fourth (and possibly final) season. I’ll keep my ears open and an eye out for news and will update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for free alerts on Absentia cancellation or renewal news.
5/8/21 update: Absentia has ended so, there won’t be a fourth season on Amazon Prime Video.

Hope season 4 happens for Absentia!!
Please keep Absentia going for at least a 4th season. The casting is amazing, especially the combination of Stana Katic and Matthew Le Nevez. I’ve followed him since watching Offspring on Netflix! Just SUPER! There are so many possible story leads left from the previous season that this show could go on for several more seasons. The writing is so clever and entertaining. Please do keep this show on the air!
Definitely one of the Best shows to be made in a long time. Unlike anything else,great storyline and the action scenes are even better. Emily is such a badass but also a very complicated Woman in many ways which keeps you glued to the screen. Season 4 needs to happen as there is still more places the story can go. Especially how season 3 ended. Need more Absentia!!!!!
I would be quite disappointed if Absentia did not have a fourth season. Keeping fingers crossed Amazon Prime will have it available as soon as filming has been done.
Absentia is a great show! It needs a season 4 just to tie up loose ends. Besides, it deserves an awesome ending!

OMG, me too! They can’t just leave it on a cliffhanger and not expect fans to clamor for more! I just watched all 3 seasons and I’m hooked! Emily and Cal definitely have amazing chemistry!
Oh, and one more thing. NEVER in my life have I EVER woken up at 3:30 in the morning to see how an episode ended!!!!
Absentia just blew my mind!! It is, by far, one of the BEST and smartly written shows out there. Please bring it back….along with Matthew Le Nevez.

I love all things Stana Katic – She was an amazing detective as Kate Beckett in Castle, a splendid spymistress as Vera Atkins in A Call To Spy and A breathtaking survivor as Emily Byrne in Absentia. Please renew Absentia for a fourth season with hopefully more seasons after that.
