Eileen is looking for more than just redemption in the first season of the Alaska Daily TV show on ABC. As we all know, Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Alaska Daily is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustrated when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the first season episodes of Alaska Daily here. *Status Update Below.
An ABC drama series, the Alaska Daily TV show stars Hilary Swank, Jeff Perry, Matt Malloy, Meredith Holzman, Grace Dove, Pablo Castelblanco, Ami Park, and Craig Frank. Eileen Fitzgerald (Swank) is an award-winning investigative journalist and high-powered newspaper reporter in New York. Her reporting methods and abrasive personality are called into question after a high-profile story blows up in her face, and Eileen loses her job. Her former mentor, Stanley Cornik (Perry), approaches her about making a big move, and she goes to work for a struggling downsized Anchorage newspaper, the Daily Alaskan. Grudgingly, Eileen teams up with a young local reporter named Roz Friendly (Dove). Together, they begin investigating the murders of a group of indigenous women. In a new locale, across the country, and in a very different world, Eileen is on a journey to find both personal and professional redemption.

Great show. I love the characters and the relationships. The intro scenes of the Anchorage area are beautiful. Reminds me of when I lived there when stationed at Elmendorf AFB back in the day.

Yeah, for some unknown reason, the ABC people are not going to air the next, new episode 6 of Alaska Daily’s current, premiere season 1 tonight, November 10, 2022. That’s right, guys. Authentic look and feel of a newsroom struggling to cover issues far beyond their resources. Swank nails the ruthless swagger required to shake loose the truth. Just a great show full of Native voices as you would expect from an Alaskan byline.

Very interesting show!
Interesting look at Alaska, important stories through the eyes of a small but well-run daily paper. The cast includes indigenous people and they portray believable Alaskan characters. Hillary Swank is the reporter who comes to Alaska to both help out her long time friend and editor with an important story on missing indigenous women, and to heal from a past reporting experience. I like this look at a Newspaper Office in the “last frontier.” It is a positive view of what is important about journalism in an era when we seem to be forgetting how important and relevant daily newspapers… Read more »
I really like this show !!! It has mystery and good drama! I was glad to see something GOOD on tv once besides all the killing and what not that has been on. Sure hope that this one sticks around for quite awhile
