This court won’t be back in session during the 2021-22 television season. CBS has cancelled the All Rise legal drama series so we won’t be seeing a third season.
All Rise stars Simone Missick, Wilson Bethel, Marg Helgenberger, Jessica Camacho, J. Alex Brinson, Lindsay Mendez, Ruthie Ann Miles, Lindsay Gort, and Audrey Corsa. The series follows the chaotic, hopeful (and sometimes absurd) world of those who work at a courthouse in Los Angeles. At the center of this drama series is Lola Carmichael (Missick), a recently appointed judge who was previously a highly regarded and impressive deputy district attorney. She depends on the counsel of people like her Deputy District Attorney Mark Callan (Bethel), Supervisory Judge Lisa Benner (Helgenberger), and pragmatic judicial assistant Sherri Kansky (Miles). Lola pushes the boundaries and challenges the expectations of what a judge can be and receives both support and pushback from those around her.
Airing on Monday nights, the second season of All Rise averages a 0.45 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.01 million viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season one, that’s down by 27% in the demo and down by 26% in viewership. It’s one of the lower-rated scripted shows on CBS.
The cancellation follows a number of behind-the-scenes issues — including the departure of creator/showrunner Greg Spottiswood following misconduct allegations.
The de facto series finale will air on May 24th.
What do you think? Do you make a point to watch the All Rise TV series each week? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled? Would you have tuned in for season three on CBS?
Yes, I definitely would have watched All Rise season 3! I worked in theileg al field, following my mother’s lead. I have made it a practice to record every episode I was not able to watch and am very diiappointed in the cancellation.
Why are the best shows always cancelled and the garbage shows continued ad infinite. This was a great show, lots of character and great acting, some real courtroom drama and some personal relationship stuff. I am disgusted with television.
Not happy it is cancelled it is a great show I made sure I turned it on or taped it every week
Great show. Watch every week. Bring it back!
I love All Rise. So bummed.
I am so sorry that All Rise was cancelled, but did find Season 2 somewhat fragmented & chaotic. There were too many things going on with everyone going in a lot of different directions. One judge is looking for a lesbian relationship & the other is mesmerized by her new born baby, while the tension in other relationships keeps building then fizzling then rekindling; then doing it over again. A little tweaking could have saved it, & I will miss it.
I Love All Rise I hate to see it be cancelled. I hope it Will be brought back even in another station. I watch CBS all the Time and this is one of my favorite.
No! Don’t cancel another good show. I love the cast and the portrayal of this judge Carmichael. She’s an awesome human being and we were just starting to love the cast. What is wrong with this network? Get rid of some of those stupid series like young Sheldon or those dumb reality shows!
I agree with the comment that junk like Young Sheldon is going to be renewed and the best series that CBS had on other than Blue Bloods is not being renewed. If you look at what CBS has on its weekly schedule, I will watch EPIX, Show Time, and the Dick Wolf programs on NBC.
I love All Rise and hate that it was canceled. I hope another network picks it up.
I love All Rise! It is a very smart and sophisticated hour of fast moving dialogue and classy actors.
I’m very sorry to hear that the show has been canceled. It was one of my favorite shows I looked forward to on Monday night. Can you get a different writer and consider bringing back the show. I hope CBS will reconsider.
Can’t believe All Rise is being cancelled. It’s one of the smartest, most diverse, and most interesting shows out there. I cannot believe it’s being cancelled and probably for some show that is completely ignorant. That is a shame.
Loved all rise. Appreciated the complexities of everyday human life concerning all the characters and the storylines. The moral and ethical struggles were also good lessons for the general public to be exposed to. Sad to see it go. Would love to see a comeback in the future.
Well put, a good example of human compassion at so many levels
I make it a point to watch All Rise every week. I truly enjoy the back and forth between attorneys/defendants, judges/attorneys, and anyone else on the show. Besides showing what could go on emotionally behind the scenes at a courthouse, I love the compassion, and the passion, shown by and for all parties. What Judge Lola says about the Law, the Process, should be in the training of all involved in the judicial process. I think the writing was excellent! The characters are wonderfully flawed, and I would like to have them as friends, though they are fictional, I can… Read more »
This is a good show. Please reconsider! There was no consistency in airing the episodes.
