On Monday night, WGN America finished airing the first season of the Almost Paradise TV series. Tonight, the show’s creator, Dean Devlin, shared with his cast and crew that series won’t be returning to the cable channel for another season. However, that doesn’t mean that the series has been cancelled either. The possibility for a second season is still alive.
A crime drama series, Almost Paradise stars Christian Kane, Samantha Richelle, Arthur Acuña, Nonie Buencamino, and Ces Quesada. The series revolves around a former DEA agent, Alex Walker (Kane), who’s been forced into retirement. He moves to the Filipino island of Cebu and purchases a hotel gift shop, planning to live a tranquil and less stressful life. Unfortunately, the island’s luxury resorts attract rich, powerful, and sometimes criminal elite from around the world, often on a collision course with Alex.
Devlin has already discussed some plans that he has for the second season but first, the show must be renewed. Tonight, Devlin said, “A lot of people have been asking about season two so I want to tell everybody what’s happening with our show. Just so everyone knows we will not be back on WGN next year. WGN has decided to change into an all-news network [in primetime]. We are grateful to WGN for launching our show and for getting us up and running and giving us a place to show the show to everyone. So, thank you for that opportunity. But, we will not be back next year with WGN but that does not mean that we will not be back.”
He continued, “I can’t name the platform yet because the ink isn’t dry on the contract but, this July, all of the original episodes will appear in a new place and that place will be for free so everyone will be able to watch it for free.”
“And, they have sworn to me that, if we do well enough, if we perform really well in those first couple months, they will pick up season two and continue the show. We will announce at some point where that new platform is,” Devlin said.
“If we do well, we will be back for season two and nothing would make me happier. I can’t imagine any show that I’ve ever worked on being more fun than this one. Again, thank you, everyone, for a wonderful season,” he concluded.

Love the show and adore the cast. Have always been a fan of Christian Kane. I am praying that you all return for season 2. I am telling everyone I know to watch the show because they will love it!
YES!!! We need Season 2 of Almost Paradise! Them Season 3, Season 4, Season 5, etc.!!! Best show on TV! Best cast…..great acting! Christian Kane is the best! Great stories!

Please renew… fun, exciting, comic relief, with lots of action. Dint take another entertaining show off the air. We have enough reality and news in our lives. Need an escape.
This is a good show. If you can read the irony that a man trying to relax is involved with the drama we have seen in season 1, then you can enjoy how the problem is solved. Hoping to see a season 2 and more. Plus the setting is great. Love the cast.
Very well made family friendly show. I really hope a network picks it up for a 2nd season. Also I very much appreciate the lack of PC indoctrination. Very refreshing!
You can tell by the way this ended that it was over. Everything was tied up nicely like it was meant from the beginning to be a one and done. We’ve seen the last of these losers.
This show was crap. The most over acting I’ve seen in a long time. Not really, most stuff is over acted these days. Anyway this show was bad full of cliche good guys and cliche bad guys like they all came out of a can of ham. No way is it going to be picked up by another network. No way. I don’t want to see anymore of it. Christian Kane was good in Leverage but nothing since.

I love all the characters I love all the actors who play the characters it is a fantastic show please please keep it running Christian Kane and Michelle Renner are awesome I love where it’s being filmed in the Philippines it is a great show so please please renew the show and please keep filming and producing the show please!!!!
I love this show. It needs to be renewed. The Filipinos should have their beautiful country on the air. Besides, if it is on another network maybe it will be better exposed.
I loved Almost Paradise and want it to have more seasons. Nice to see the characters and they work well together.Please renew it and even though we have watched the first season, we will watch the season again while waiting for the second season to begin.

DEFINITELY!!! The story and the characters has breathed a breath fresh air into the more gritty and darker drama series this season. Kane, Richelle, and Acuña has a great and obvious chemistry and there is no reason that production should not continue for season 2 and well beyond. Almost Paradise is far more worthy of a one-and-done series. This series is a Fan-favorite and should not let down the loyalty of fans that has already greatly emerged from season 1. I truly looked forward to season 2.
ABSOLUTELY! Not only should Almost Paradise get a 2nd season, it should get many, MANY more! There was nothing more that I could ask of a TV show! Such wonderful entertainment; a great escape from the crazy world if only for 1 hour a week! I can tell you that the #Kaniacs will do more than everything in their power to keep it back on wherever it ends up! I can honestly say that Christian Kane can do anything and everything within the acting realm!
