In a distant star system, the humans of 12 colony worlds are fighting a thousand year war against a race of war robots called Cylons.
Badly beaten, the survivors flee on the last surviving warship, the Battlestar Galactica, and search for a legendary planet called Earth.
The ship is under the command of Commander Adama (Lorne Greene) and he is aided by son Captain Apollo (Richard Hatch), Lieutenant Starbuck (Dirk Benedict), Lieutenant Boomer (Herbert Jefferson Jr.), and Colonel Tigh (Terry Carter).
that is my favorite show battlestar galactica after all the episodes and movies why cancel the whole show for one season and galactica 1980 season 2 that not fair maybe nbc will reboot galactica 2015 for at least 5 seasons and 2 movies on syfy this is the 21st century no more canceling and renewal all the shows
As much as I would love to see continuation of Battlestar Galactica with the old cast on either big or small screen, I doubt such will ever come to fruition.
While many emerged voicing displeasure with the refashioned version and spinoffs, sequels and continuations–that should give an idea as to how much I have paid attention to the new versions–if it gets people to talk about the old version and prompt a whole slew of books and the like, then perhaps that is a good thing.
