How soon can we expect the next season of Big Little Lies? Recent, HBO boss Casey Bloys spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the TV show’s upcoming second season.
Based on the novel by Liane Moriarty, the drama digs into the dark secrets behind a group of wealthy families living in Monterey, Calif. The cast includes Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz, Alexander Skarsgård, Adam Scott, James Tupper, and Jeffrey Nordling.
At this year’s TCA winter press tour, Bloys confirmed season two of Big Little Lies will begin production this spring but won’t air on HBO until at least 2019:
They start shooting in the spring. It’s not going to air in 2018.
And what can fans expect from the new season? Bloys revealed season two will be different:
In general, I don’t think anybody involved is thinking we’re going to do the same thing. In any second season of a show, people want to see growth in the characters and storylines. I don’t think anyone involved is trying to do the same thing. We’re trying to progress everybody’s lives in the storytelling.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Big Little Lies? Will you watch season two?
