Blue Bloods is ending, but one star of the CBS series is not ready to say goodbye yet. Tom Selleck, who plays NYPD Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, recently spoke about the series ending with TV Insider.
Starring Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Marisa Ramirez, and Vanessa Ray, the Blue Bloods series follows a family of law enforcement officers living and working in New York City.
CBS has announced that Blue Bloods will be ending with the upcoming 14th season, which will be split into two parts. The first part will debut on February 16th, and run for ten episodes. The remaining eight installments will begin airing in the fall.
It appears that Selleck doesn’t agree with the decision to end Blue Bloods and said the following:
“CBS will find an awful lot of people aren’t ready to say goodbye to it. The show’s more popular than ever, and I think [numbers] will increase with the interest this year. We’re certainly not out of ideas.
I’m not counting the days so I can do something else. I love the work. Sometimes the hours are a little harder because I’m older, but so what? I want work as long as they’ll have me.”

I have been watching this show since it started. It is one of the best shows on TV today still! Why do they always constantly get rid of the good ones and keep the stupid ones no offense but I just don’t get why they get rid of the ones that are great shows. That show should go on forever! The best programme! I never miss an episode and would like it to go on for ever! Tom Selleck and the rest of the cast are brilliant.
Blue Bloods is, without question, one of the best series of all time. It is dynamic in its action and, even though a “police procedural” it is superb in its plot and story lines, beautifully written with mindful, fresh creativity that runs from bright to brilliant. It just never gets old and is an oasis of goodness and light in a world of evil and darkness both in the world and the entertainment industry which mirrors that world. Blue Bloods needs to continue to serve as a guide for responsible behavior. I agree with Tom Selleck that there are a lot more stories to tell.

This show is one of the all-time greats. I’d love to see it continue. I can’t imagine not spending Sunday dinner with the Reagan family. I’ll be very sad to see it end.

I just binge watched every season of blue bloods and loved the characters, the actors that played them and the fact they keepfamily first and God centered. I can’t wait til this seasons I’m all caught up and ready for more Blue Bloods. I’ll watch as long as they will make them. True forever fan

Best ‘show’ outside of Cops and Live PD. Writers are fantastic and actors are terrific. Only show that delivers the inside trials of police work especially in the current environment. Good wholesome entertainment with the flare of reality. Hope it continues. Tom Selleck really sets the stage. Seriously hope it continues!
