A legal drama, the Bluff City Law TV series is set in Memphis, Tennessee. Coming from a famous family that’s known for taking on injustice, a brilliant lawyer named Sydney Strait (McGee) used to work at her father Elijah’s celebrated law firm until their tumultuous relationship got in the way.
After barely speaking to her father for years, Sydney is suddenly thrust back into the family fold when her philanthropist mother passes away unexpectedly. In the wake of the loss of his wife and in hopes of reconnecting with the daughter he loves, Elijah (Smits) asks Sydney to rejoin his Civil Rights firm and take on a chemical company whose product may cause cancer.
Despite her lingering resentment and distrust, she agrees because she knows that working alongside her father is her best hope at changing the world — as long as they can find a way to get along. No sooner has Sydney returned than she stumbles on a secret that Elijah has been keeping from her that may change everything.
Episode #10 — Perfect Day
Sydney and Elijah race against the clock to get political asylum for a journalist whose life is at risk. Emerson plans a Thanksgiving surprise for Elijah.

What do you think? Do you like the Bluff City Law TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Please do not cancel this show! One of the best we’ve seen for a long time on TV
Really sorry this well written, well acted series with unique court room drama is being cancelled. There was a time when network executives would protect a compelling program by trying an alternate time slot to attract a greater audience. Such a shame fine directors, film crews and a distinct location has been “shown the door” without rolling show credits on the last broadcast. It’s the chance all network programming executives take when they actually select a show as refined as Bluff City Law that appeals to a more sophisticated audience. Those of us in the “wrong demographic” yet dedicated to… Read more »

Please do not cancel Bluff City Law. I do not usually watch dramas but I LOVE this show. What determines a cancellation?
One of the best new shows on television! Jimmy Smitts is wonderful and the cast is fantastic. 5 stars all the way. Hoping this show will be picked up for a 2nd season!
Renewed? So 9 episodes is a season?
Please don’t cancel Bluff City Law! It is a great show!
I LOVE the show and hope it’s renewed. Love how the city is a character in the show, and the acting is terrific.
I think this is one of the best new shows to come out this year. The subjects they cover are tough and front page news.
This show is all but cancelled. As it should be. Talk about remedial writing. My goodness gracious. My 5th grader writes with more nuance, depth and complexity. There’s no life in this show. It looks like it was filmed in the 70s for god’s sake. And the dialogue if that’s what we’re calling this drivel is astonishingly bad. Whoever created this should be embarrassed. And if they aren’t all they need is to read the critics and audience reviews while looking at the ratings lol pathetic
