Will viewers keep coming back for more in the first season of the Call Me Kat TV show on FOX? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Call Me Kat is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. A FOX multi-camera comedy series, the Call Me Kat TV show is based on the British Miranda series. The U.S. sitcom stars Mayim Bialik, Swoosie Kurtz, Kyla Pratt, Cheyenne Jackson, Leslie Jordan, and Julian Gant. The story follows Kat (Bialik), a woman who struggles every day against society and her mother to prove that she can live a happy and fulfilling life — despite still being single at 39 years old. Kat’s mother, Sheila (Kurtz), views her daughter being single as her own personal failure. After leaving her job as a University of Louisville college professor, Kat spends the money her parents had set aside for her wedding to open a cat café. Working alongside Kat are Randi (Pratt) and Phil (Jordan). As Kat celebrates her independence, her single-forever plans begin to veer off-course. Her former crush and good friend, Max (Jackson), returns to town and takes a job as a bartender at the piano bar across the street and works with his friend, Carter (Gant).

The show what I saw suck no humor not funny dumb. Needs a better story line.
well i guess this show will at least get the 1st show to be cancelled in 2021, its TERRIBLE, found myself f.f. thru alot of it, its boring, and quite frankly annoying as hell, no laughs at all,im betting it will be removed from the schedule within the next 4 episodes. i will give it another try ,as SOMETIMES the premiere episode is not always the best ,as it sets up the characters, and premise. but i dont have high hopes for this show.
She was put in a comedy show already well established as being funny, TBBT. That does not mean she can stand on her own show. She is always kicking, spilling, or flopping around. The show is definitely NOT funny.
This first episode was unfunny & disappointing beyond belief! We stayed w/it & will try it one more time but that’s it. The over acting by Mayim was nuts. No one was funny at all!
I am an American Galloper from way back… Thrilled to finally record all 20 episodes of Miranda recently from PBS… I was really looking forward to this version of the show, but I was a little bit disappointed… I didn’t like the opening credits being the same as Miranda’s, but could have forgiven that… and I didn’t like that some of the dialogue was exactly the same… She can’t be successful by imitating Miranda. I absolutely loved this show!! I loved her as Amy Farrah Fowler, she is a awesome actress and when I heard about this show I said I will definitely be watching this!! 3 reasons. A) I love cats, I have 3 and one that passed away. B) My first name is Kathleen and the dispatcher at a job I had would call me Kat and C) I love Mayim Bialik because she is a very great actress!! Can’t wait to see the next one!!
It was ok. It’s really hard, and premature to rate a pilot. I will continue to watch it and see how it goes. I like mayim.
Expecting so much more based on the previews. It wasn’t funny or even mildly entertaining. A waste of time. I am disappointed as I was really looking forward to it.

I really enjoyed “Call Me Kat”. I’m a fan of “Miranda”, the UK series that it’s based on so I had high hopes. Not only did it deliver with fun writing, but oh my goodness what a great cast! I’m looking forward to seeing more!
Very stupid, not at all funny. We watched the whole episode, I was ready to stop watching it after the first 8 minutes. This is one show I will not watch again.
Not too impressed, will be fair and give it time for improvement in the coming weeks.
The preshow hype made me think that this was not going to be good. Sometimes you can just tell that they’ve put the few funny lines they had in all the publicity and ads for the show.
Going to go read soup can labels as an alternative.

Not a fan. The constant talking into the camera is beyond annoying. The humor during the first episode seemed forced at best. I smiled a couple times, but I don’t think I genuinely laughed once during the show. I really had hopes for this show and I really wanted to like it, but with 10 minutes left in the show, I cut my losses and turned on Netflix. I hope the next few episodes are better, because I like the premise of the show, but I don’t see it getting any better. I hope I’m in the minority about this… Read more »
I’D rather watch re-runs of Big Bang Theory. At least that show was funny.
Call me Kat so funny really hope it continue more episode during coronavirus pandemic era.

You are correct, this show is HORRIBLE and should be cancelled immediatly.
Makes me sick to think about all the GOOD shows that get cancelled after a few episodes, and this garbage continues on……Sad.
