Although The Mindy Project TV show was recently renewed for a sixth and final season on Hulu, creator and star Mindy Kaling isn’t coasting to the finish line. NBC has ordered a new comedy, Champions, from Kaling and Charlie Grandy.
Kaline and Grandy are writing and executive producing the Champions TV series, which stars Anders Holm and Andy Favreau. J.J. Totah, Mouzam Makkar, and Nina Wadia will co-star, with Kaling guest starring.

The series follows Vince (Anders Holm), a charismatic gym owner with no ambition, lives with his younger brother Michael (Andy Favreau), a gorgeous idiot. Their simple life of women and working out is put on hold when the teenage son of Vince is dropped off on their doorstep by Priya (Kaling), one of his old high school flings.
[…] In addition to Kaling and Grandy, Michael Alan Spiller will direct and executive produce. Howard Klein also executive produces. Universal Television, 3 Arts Entertainment, Eyes Up Productions and Kaling International produce the series.

Please don’t do this show . NBC’s viewers deserve better shows ! Don’t we ? Come on they already brought back Will & Grace , yuck . It was barely ok when actors were younger. Come on NBC . At least try
All I can say is YUK! And I bet it’ll have a laugh track, too, to make sure you know what was “supposed” to be funny. Won’t be watching.

I love that this has become a thread about Trial and Error instead of this new show. Shows that people don’t like this cookie cutter BS and likes fresh takes on television. I am ready for a “TRIAL AND ERROR” renewal as well.
I don’t know anything about this new show, but I am waiting to hear about one of my very favorites from last Season, Trial & Error. I hope NBC renews it and doesn’t play it at 10:00 (as it is too late). There is nothing else like it on TV, and it is laugh out loud hilarious!
NBC, please renew Trial & Error!!! It was the funniest, smartest, and most unique comedy on TV this season! Your viewers are begging for a season 2! Please listen to us.
I think the format sounds foolish and it is yet another cookie cutter comedy when Nbc should be looking at unique. I am very close to taking NBC off my watch list especially if they don’t renew trial and error which is a unique
Mockumentary of which they have none like it .Yet Tons of so-called family comedy. Blah
