This documentary series is a follow-up to Carl Sagan’s 1980 television series, Cosmos: A Personal Voyage. Executive produced by Seth MacFarlane and Ann Druyan (Sagan’s widow), this version is hosted by renowned astrophysicist Doctor Neil deGrasse Tyson.
The series follows how humans discovered the laws of nature and found coordinates in space and time. The series brings to life never-before-told stories of the quest for knowledge, transporting viewers to new worlds and across the universe for a vision of the cosmos on the grandest — and the smallest — scale.
Episode #26 — Seven Wonders of the New World
Young Carl Sagan and Neil deGrasse Tyson first discovered their passion for science at the New York World’s Fairs of the past. Visit the dazzling pavilions of the 2039 New York World’s Fair, where problems currently considered intractable may have been solved through public commitment and scientific imagination. A child’s journey comes full circle, presenting a bright future with possibilities in the finale.
First aired: April 4, 2020.
What do you think? Do you like the new Cosmos TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season?
love this show !!
My husband and I LOVE this show and are not looking forward to it ever ending.
It is such a treat to have something of quality on TV, educational, interesting and so very well done. The special effects are amazing and we are learning so much about us as well as space. Dr. Tyson is perfect for the job of story teller. He says things at “our” level, so we can understand scientific things that would normally be far beyond the average persons ability. As a Scientist and Teacher/lecturer, he is at the top of the list.

Please continue this show…. It was a great show when Carl Sagen hosted it and Dr. Tyson is following in his footsteps…. Television needs this… We don’t seem to have great educational show anymore …. This show opened my mind when I was a young boy and now it is opening the mind of my son as we’ll… This will open the minds of many and may even bring to light another of the worlds great minds… I hope it never ends… Because our thist for knowledge never ends … And the glass of our minds are never full
I would love to see the show continue. It is thought provoking and enthralling to watch. It would be a shame to have so much great knowledge sit aside for those who don’t know where to find it. One more season for sure if not many more would be amazing!
“Cosmos” is an awesome show! I faithfully watch it, and I’m learning a lot of new tings. Neil Degrasse Tyson is doing an excellent job as narrator. Please do not cancel!!!
I really enjoy learning a new perspective on science. The show should be renewed. I absolutely love it.
I love Cosmos. I’m 69 and I’m leaning so much. Please don’t cancel this great show.
I own the original on VHS and DVD and I love the new version. Anyone that thinks the NDT era doesn’t live up to Carl Sagan’s Original is wacked. Great show, I hope it never ends.
This is probably the best 41-43mins of television in the world.
A fantastic show, Dr. Tyson is charismatic, engaging and amazing host. I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing the original with Dr. Sagan, but would love to having seen this series.
One could argue that Fox has stumbled on the ideal use for television with this show.
I hope it stays.
I saw the original Cosmos during its original run. It was brilliant.
Dr. Tyson’s updated Cosmos is no less brilliant.
While science has progressed significantly, I am saddened at how far the American has REgressed. I have the sinking feeling that FOX will yield to its anti-science, anti-progress viewer base and cancel the show without showing the entire 13-week run.
I know they will not renew it. They haven’t the guts to stand up for science and truth.
Truth? What truth, Carl Sagan has never set foot on another planet besides this one. Why in the hell would anything he says about the universe (past & present) be regarded as ‘truth’. You believe what you want to believe, truth is you know nothing about the universe, you only have theroies which the science community agrees upon. And that’s the TRUTH. Swallow it.
Please renew this show/! If there is to be any hope for this civilization, people have to let go of all their silliness and smarten up…pronto. the show is wonderful, moving and informative, and NEEDS to continue doing it’s good work! Twits who are offended ate only so because they recognised their own idiotic beliefs are gonna ruin this planet for us!
Sorry, Robert…you seem to have an easier time ‘swallowing’, you go ahead. True is true, and it is what can be proven. Use that as you criteria to weigh the truth of an issue. Try not to be so defensive. It weakens any argument you present.
Love this series. Neil DeGrasse Tyson is awesome as host and I’m sure Carl Sagan would be pleased with this updated version of hia series.
Hello all!
i am a huge fan of the show having vaguely remember watching it as a child I am very excited to show it to my 9 yr old who is consistently fascinated by the amazing world science can show us!
I am a little sad however when i think how poorly this show refelects on our current society lack of interest in “moving humanity forward” I feel a tinge of guilt for my part in our current situation.
We have been enthusiastic since seeing the debut show a few weeks ago of COSMOS: A Space Odyssey hosted by the chariasmic Astrophysicst and Teacher of the Universe for all ages. We were anticipating this program, and Dr. Tyson did not disappoint!! He is now required viewing for all younger members of our Family and they are enjoying it and learning a lot at the same time. He gives us an exiting closeup of the Galaxy. There is no doubt that his mentor, Dr. Carl Sagan would be pleased. I have no idea why a previous viewer was disappointed or… Read more »
Having watched the original show and loving it, I was really looking forward to this. Wow. I was so disappointed. It was not what I was expecting considering how far television has come since Sagan first brought us Cosmos. I’m still going to continue watching it, but I doubt it’ll last long.
Sorry you are disappointed, but I am having the opposite experience. I think the show is fabulous as does my husband. We can hardly wait for the next one. The special effects are amazing. I guess everyone has different tastes, but for me this is one of the best series I’ve seen in a long time. Finally something on tv worth watching rather than the usual inane programming.
Own the original, grew up watching it over and over with my mom. The first episode was almost a copy of the original and they have gotten better since. I loved Carl Sagan, but NDT is a much more skilled orator and this show will be here for some time.
I would love to see this show, but I can’t seem to find it on any station in Hawaii. Could anyone let me know what channel and time it is in Hawaii? Would really appreciate it.
It’s due out on DVD in late June, I believe…well worth the $!
