Dancing with the Stars went made some big changes ahead of its new season, and many fans were unhappy to see Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews fired as hosts of the ABC series. Tyra Banks is now hosting the dance competition series, and some are not happy with that choice either.
DWTS executive producer Andrew Llinares recently spoke about the reasons for the changes at an ABC press event. He said the following about the firing of Bergeron and Andrews, per The Sun:
“It’s all about evolution. Any show like this that has been on for many, many seasons needs to continue to evolve. So I think changing that host is all about evolution. It was all about making the show feel fresh, making it feel new and make it reach out to a new audience — as well as the audience that’s been there for years.”
Llinares says that he is pleased with how things have worked out and thinks that bringing in Banks to host the series has “changed the rhythm of the show in a really exciting way. I think Tyra is doing an amazing, amazing job. It’s been wonderful having her energy in the ballroom and her expertise as a host in the ballroom. She’s brought a new life to everything.”
The changes did appear to cause a drop in viewership in its second week on the air this season, but it bounced back some in week three. Dancing with the Stars currently airs on Monday nights on ABC.

You’ve lost two viewers in two different families. Tyra is awful, while Tom is incredibly quick, witty and competent. Erin ain’t too shabby either!

I watch because I love the contestants and judges but do not enjoy Tyra Banks. She tries to make the show all about herself!
Huge mistake loosing Tom and Erin and even bigger mistake with Tyra! What an error/blunder she made last night and she says it was because of live television – WOW, all the previous seasons were live and nothing like that ever happened!!! She was a lousy host on AGT and she does the same kind of lousy job here!!! You NEED to bring back Tom and Erin before you loose more viewers and the show gets cancelled! Tyra is ruining the show! First of all, she has gained a lot of weight and the dresses she wears make her look even larger! I had been watching the show every since it first came on, but me, along with many friends and relatives, will no longer watch! You probably will not be able to get Tom and Erin back…but anyone would be better than her! I heard she made a BIG BLUNDER on the show last night….! It might be hard to get used to that! BIG Mistake letting Tom go. He was with heart and soul of the show.
Tyra just doesn’t fit in. The entire rhythm mood of the show has changed, and not for the better.
I won’t be tuning in anymore this season. I always looked forward to watching DWTS. I was one of my favorite shows, but not anymore:(

Tyra Banks is awful. I still watch because of the dancing , judges, for light entertainment during this pandemic. People don’t watch to see Tyras costume changes, it’s not her show , or all about her!!! She cuts off the judges who are offering constructive criticism, to repeat a question that the participants have covered in their preview to the dance Awkward, she has no idea. Looks like she uses dresses from Ru Paul’s Drag Show!! Hideous on her , fabulous in drag. Bring back Tom and Erin please .
Biggest mistake you could have made. Tom and Eric both had class. No so with Tyra. Haven’t heard of anyone who likes the changes. No, I will not continue watching. It used to be my favorite show. What a disappointment!!!

Tyra Banks is F’n Awful! Not exciting, Monotone voice, interrupting judges with her useless comments and her clothing choices are a catastrophe! Did they fire the costumer department also? It’s no longer a show worth watching. Sounds like she bought her way into the job as executive producer. She should have stuck to what she knows, a walking manakin. Bring Back TOM and ERIN and LEN PLEASE!!!
Ratings are in, and they’re not good news for Ms. Banks. The show premiered to a demo (18-49) rating of 1.3 and has been shedding a tenth of a point each week to where it’s now down to 0.9 in the demo. That is a 31% DROP from the premiere in the demographic to which Ms. Banks was supposed to appeal. This show is bleeding its audience.
I understand change, but don’t get the Tyra idea. She doesn’t fit well. You should have used virtual audience like many
Tom and Erin were much better. The show is going down fast.
I watched the show forever and no longer watch.
WE CAN’T EVEN GET A BREAK FROM TYRA! It’s her at the start, her in between every dance, her cutting off every judge comment, her asking weird questions, her weird moldely struts, her weird outfits that aren’t ballroom attire, her before every practice scene, her every opening…it used to be dancing, dancing, dancing, dancers reflections after dancing in the ballroom. GIVE US A BREAK! Bring back Tom and Erin please.

I looked forward to seeing Tom and Erin as much as the dancers so I am not happy about the change!!!
I no longer watch DWTS, do not like Tyra Banks, bring back Tom and Erin.
