What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network,Emergence stars Allison Tolman, Alexa Swinton, Owain Yeoman, Ashley Aufderheide, Robert Bailey Jr., Zabryna Guevara, Donald Faison, and Clancy Brown. It takes place in Peconic Bay on Long Island, New York. In the series, Jo Evans (Tolman) is a newly divorced police chief and the mother of a teenage daughter named Mia (Aufderheide). Jo ends up taking in a young child named Piper (Swinton) who is found at the site of a mysterious accident and she has no memory of what happened. Jo’s investigation into the child’s mystery draws her into a conspiracy that is larger than she could have imagined. A series of bizarre electronic disruptions, unexplained forces, and a strange cryptic symbol are also all tied to the young girl. Other characters include: Jo’s father, Ed (Brown), who’s also battling cancer; Jo’s concerned ex-husband and Bree’s father, Alex Evans (Faison); investigator Benny Gallagher (Yeoman); Chris Minetto (Bailey Jr.), a police officer; and Jo’s best friend, Abby Frasier (Guevara), a pediatrician.

Will ABC cancel or renew Emergence for season two? The ratings have been dropping and weren’t all that great to start. The show does better in delayed viewing but I have doubts that that will be enough to save Emergence from being cancelled. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. Emergence! I was very disappointed to hear of the cancellation , it was such a good show and very different. Thats what made it so interesting to watch.
We discovered and binged this show with hopes of being ready for Season 2. Very disappointed that it was cancelled. It was very good!

Just finished watching Emergence with my husband, absolutely loved it and was so looking forward to the second series just to find out it’s been cancelled! What?!! How stupid!

I really enjoyed the first season of emergence. Absolutely would love to see a second season. Hopefully those in charge will reconsider cancelling this amazing show.
They should make a second season I enjoyed the first season and they left it open for a second season.
Very sad to hear that Emergence has been cancelled after only one series. We have enjoyed it immensely! We watch it every week and do hope it will return some time.

Loved this show and hope someone will pick it up . Very disappointed
I am terribly upset to see that what my family calls “Piper” is being cancelled. I am beyond hurt. It is a good wholesome family show. Why? Replace it with yet ANOTHER reality tv show? Come. On! I was looking forward to seeing what happens with Piper and how long it would take Jo to realize she wasn’t herself. Ugh. Terrible decision!

I am so sick and tired of getting into good shows like Emergence just to hear that they’re getting canceled. Good shows like The Passage, Under the Dome and Red Band Societee. Just to name a few, that I’ve never got to see them play threw, but how many seasons was Lost on for only to be one of the the final finallies biggest disappointments of all time. How is it that shows like the masked singer, multiple talent shows, niji and game shows just go on and on. The “game” shows are shallow, thought process is not invoked. What happens to Piper and how does she evolve? You ask interesting questions then pull the plug before characters developed and the questions are answered. Most annoying. How does an audience trust one who offers a new and engaging premise, especially with the record on not giving a show the chance to fully become. Guess I can just stick with the “Wolf” creations and watch NBC only.
