What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network,Emergence stars Allison Tolman, Alexa Swinton, Owain Yeoman, Ashley Aufderheide, Robert Bailey Jr., Zabryna Guevara, Donald Faison, and Clancy Brown. It takes place in Peconic Bay on Long Island, New York. In the series, Jo Evans (Tolman) is a newly divorced police chief and the mother of a teenage daughter named Mia (Aufderheide). Jo ends up taking in a young child named Piper (Swinton) who is found at the site of a mysterious accident and she has no memory of what happened. Jo’s investigation into the child’s mystery draws her into a conspiracy that is larger than she could have imagined. A series of bizarre electronic disruptions, unexplained forces, and a strange cryptic symbol are also all tied to the young girl. Other characters include: Jo’s father, Ed (Brown), who’s also battling cancer; Jo’s concerned ex-husband and Bree’s father, Alex Evans (Faison); investigator Benny Gallagher (Yeoman); Chris Minetto (Bailey Jr.), a police officer; and Jo’s best friend, Abby Frasier (Guevara), a pediatrician.

Will ABC cancel or renew Emergence for season two? The ratings have been dropping and weren’t all that great to start. The show does better in delayed viewing but I have doubts that that will be enough to save Emergence from being cancelled. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. If this show is cancelled, they should have Vicki from Small Wonder appear and it becomes clear that she is the one who made the child and is actually her mother. They then get in the UFO that she built and travel to Mars and start their own world with ALF.
This is a well written and and performed series. Hopefully it will continue. Unfortunately the production companies are looking for the quick buck. In the future money will not be in the immediate ratings but while people are home and have the opportunity to binge watch. This series has the right stuff. It just needs a chance to take off. The key here is to invest in two or three seasons with a finale.
I look forward to watching this show. I DVR it each week and watch it a couple times. I like the twists and surprises. Never know what will happen next.
I swore I’d never watch another series unless it was over and had came to a real end..Closure. But all the hype drew me in. To my happy surprise this show proved AWESOME. It’s my new Harry Potter. I have been at the edge of my seat several times with emergence and can barely last till the next episode. Perfect casting, writing, acting, story line etc. Now I find out it’s going away only 1 season in and likely with no real ending. I absolutely love this show. I’ve grown very fond of the characters and stay on the edge of my seat and I’m always surprised! Please, please, please, RENEW!

I watch ONE show (besides football) on tv and it’s Emergence. If this show is cancelled, then after football season, I’ll be cancelling Hulu live and stick to Prime and Netflix!

Oh yes it’s a breathe of fresh air Theres so many reality shows now. It’s awesome to watch the unknown. I cant wat lo,ng enough the week goes by slow. The actors are right for this part , I havent missed 1 episode. And I dont think I e er will I watch it more then once to get my fix. It just keeps getting better, when I rewatch it. Love love love this show. So plz let’s have a season 2 . ❤❤❤
Please renew Emergence! My husband and I have be been watching this with our 2 teenage boys. It’s the only show we’ve found this fall that doesn’t have swearing or sex scenes, and the storyline has kept us interested!
Emergence is a really good show! Good writing, intriguing characters, and a top-notch cast. The problem with network shows is they’re not given a fair chance to capture an audience. Networks now compete against streaming and the show has already been interrupted twice for network specials. Emergence is only one of two network shows I watch. Let the show find an audience and give it a fair shot.
Do not cancel Emergence please!!!!! It’s not as good as Lost was, but it’s a good show. All actors are excellent, great story line. Please give it more time
