A legal drama, For the People stars Britt Robertson, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Ben Rappaport, Susannah Flood, Wesam Keesh, Regé-Jean Page, Ben Shenkman, Hope Davis, Charles Michael Davis, Vondie Curtis-Hall, and Anna Deavere Smith. The Shondaland legal drama unfolds at “The Mother Court,” i.e. the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The ABC TV series centers on six young attorneys, who work on both sides of the law. Whether they represent the defense or the people, these lawyers ply their trade, trying some of the most publicized cases, and in federal court, the stakes can be sky high.
Airing on Thursday nights, the second season of For the People is averaging a 0.51 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.98 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 19% in the demo and up by 17% in viewership.
Out of the 21 scripted ABC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, For the People is in 19th place in the demo and 17th place in total viewership.

I liked this drama I thought it was great, ,good acting good storyline but of course ABC does what it always does canceled it because that’s what they do. they find something that people over 49 like and they cancel it. I don’t know why they’re demographics are from 18 to 49 because those really aren’t the people that are watching the shows, they’re too busy texting or being on social media. So disappointed that For The People was cancelled. Great show and cast. Dramas that can also make you laugh or smile are the ones that need to be kept. I truly enjoyed these characters and their personalities.
I am so sad and angry that this show was canceled! It was such a great show, both intellectually and emotionally. They always cancel the wrong shows and keep a lot of the rubbish.
I’m a third year law student and LOVE For the People. It’s great to see young, fresh out of school attorneys starting their careers and discovering the ups and downs of the legal profession. The show is so relatable. I’m heartbroken that its cancelled. This show definitely deserves to be renewed.
One of the few decent, intelligent shows on TV today. Come on….keep it on, this is good for 7-8-9 seasons. Interesting well developed characters, great interplay/interaction and a bit of meat. What more can anyone want? Please keep it on and replace the idiotic brainless swill.

Could not agree more. This was a well-crafted, well acted show with interesting characters and great storylines. Maybe it could get picked up by another network. It did not get the best promotion. So sorry to see it go.
I really enjoyed this intelligent and well casted show. I am really surprised by the low viewership. It is a pity that it is being cancelled. It seems for a longtime now the shows I really like are cancelled, the shows I never watch seem to run forever. I love legal dramas, the law has always fascinated me. Loved this show. It shed a light on what is is to be human in this very scary world.
