In its first season, God Friended Me was CBS’ seventh-highest-rated scripted series. Will viewers stick with it in season two or, will they move on to something new? Will God Friended Me be cancelled or renewed for season three on CBS? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.
God Friended Me stars Brandon Micheal Hall, Violett Beane, Joe Morton, Suraj Sharma, Javicia Leslie, and Erica Gimpel, with Adam Goldberg and Jessica Lu recurring. Set in New York City, the series revolves around a thoughtful and outspoken podcaster named Miles (Hall). Miles is an atheist and that puts him at odds with his father (Morton), a former reverend. Miles’ life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from a user named “God”. He eventually accepts the request and starts digging into his new friend’s account, convinced it’s a hoax. He partners with journalist Cara Bloom (Beane) and gets additional aide from his sister Ali (Leslie) and his hacker pal, Rakesh (Sharma). Miles is convinced that the “God” account is an elaborate hoax and is devoted to uncovering the truth. In the meantime, he’s playing along and, in the process, seeing his life changed forever.

What do you think? Do you like the God Friended Me TV series on CBS? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
4/15 update: God Friended Me has been cancelled.
I like the show but it is very frustrating to have it be on late after football. I usually tape it and it gets cut off. Why can’t people catch up on football and leave the show on?
PLEASE renew God Friended Me and keep Cara and Mike’s together and find someone for Rajesh!
But how is that going to be possible
The Greatest Show on CBS IS “GOD FRIENDED ME”
This is the BEST show on television . It shows that CBS is interested in quality programming, that creates a feeling of goodness for this ever changing world. It is too bad the show comes on a different time every Sunday because of football. I hope CBS realizes that many turn the tv on at 8PM to find no broadcast, which lowers the ratings considerably. One would think its set up for renewal suicide. But I trust that they are willing to continue this most enjoyable series and look at all factors. I personally am a walking advertisement for the… Read more »
The cable channel I watch in Richmond TX which is att. God Friended Me comes on after 60 minutes. 60 minutes mess up the programming and throws of God Friended Me programing..
I love this show! It covers God and family and problems that seem insurmountable but show that if you look deep enough there is answers. It’s a wonderful message. Yes, there is a very eclectic group on the show but isn’t that true life? They address all that and face all that on the show and unfortunately some people are missing the message. Unfortunately there are people who will never get the message and that might be why the show is not doing better than it should. I wish it would have been promoted more before the show even began.… Read more »
Yes i agree with what you’ve said
this show is very inspiring and life changing series
personally it has change some aspect of my life and my contributions to God
and i will recommend more episodes from the production
God bless your every effort
I love the concept but don’t like the unChristian activities it supports. I watch but any further attempt to go against my faith will assure you I will not watch. I’m just a Christian woman trying to find a good clean program to watch. A good Christian pastor would NEVER live with a woman before marrying her!
Used to enjoy the show, but this season lost our family.
Yes
Love the show God friended me is a great watch and change from some of the junk that is on
I like the main characters in the show and I’m glad that they added a new one her name is Joy. But I don’t know why TV shows that are meant for family entertainment always have to add so much LGBTQ into the dialogue. I know that this group exists but does it have to be in every TV show that we watch today?
I totally agree. Straight people don’t go around broadcasting it.
That is the funniest statement I’ve ever heard. Straight people broadcast it all the time. Go to a mall and you’ll see straight people holding hands, kissing, etc.. If a gay couple did the same thing, they’re accused of throwing their lifestyle in other people’s faces. It is a very straight world. You don’t notice it because, apparently, you’re straight.
Please keep the show, it is refreshing during times like these and we need the positivity. The reason the rating was low because most didn’t know when it was coming back. I am from NY and last season, everywhere I went, I saw advertising about the show, now, there is nothing. I missed it last week but will watch going forward.
LOVE this show!! Please keep it!
They need to have a third season! I could not wait until they came back on this Sunday. I loved the first episode and love the cast! It give reasons to ignore the hate in the world. Please keep it.
We absolutely LOVE this show!! Best show on!! The only show I MUST watch!! Great show thats family friendly.
LOVE the first episode of Season 2 God Friended Me! Very enjoyable! Wished I had thought to remind some friends to watch it; later learned a lot of them were not home from Church at that time (Central Standard Time). Based on Episode 1 of Season Two, we’d rate God Friended Me as the Best TV Show in 2019!
