An ABC medical drama, The Good Doctor stars Freddie Highmore, Antonia Thomas, Nicholas Gonzalez, Chuku Modu, Beau Garrett, Hill Harper, Tamlyn Tomita, and Richard Schiff. The show centers on Dr. Shaun Murphy (Highmore), a new surgical resident with autism and savant syndrome. His incredible memory and keen ability to perceive spatial relations inform Shaun’s gifted comprehension of his patients. Meanwhile, his autism can hinder his ability to communicate with others. With only the help of his advocate, Dr. Aaron Glassman (Schiff), Shaun must challenge the skepticism and prejudices of the hospital’s board and medical staff, in order to do his job and save lives.

I have been watching this series in the UK on Sky Living. I love it and in particular it shows what a fantastic actor Freddie Highmore is. I loved Bates Motel and have all series on DVD and he was excellent in that too. But to so quickly move to a new series and play such a totally different role, proves his flexibility as an actor.
I hope The Good Doctor gets a 2nd series, as the debut series is superb.

The Good Doctor is outstanding. Shaun makes it come alive how he pictures in his head the parts of the body and comes to the answer. He plays his part extremely well or 10 out of 10. I hope the series has at least 5 years
The Good Doctor is a great series that addresses everyday issues. You learn more about each character in every episode. The cast and crew work out well and leave the audience in anticipation for the next episode. Removing characters this early in the series will affect ratings.
I absolutely love this show! I don’t typically watch TV, but every Tuesday I look forward to each new episode waiting for me on the DVR! (Every once in a while I go back and rewatch one just for the fun of it) I pray this show doesn’t get cancelled!

This past season The Good Doctor became my number one show to watch. I found myself emotionally moved by each episode and the acting ability of Freddie Highmore. He portrays the role with feeling and sensitivity. This is without a doubt a show that deals with a topic that is misunderstood and a mystery to many and it does it very well. Bravo!
corn ball, bad writing, in the first episode a construction crew working in an active airport drop a glass sign onto people below. Do some research before you write. pedestrians not protected from overhead work? No emergency responders in the airport. stupid and unbelievable. Sorry!
This is such a good show. Freddie Highmore is an excellent actor. I hope this show is renewed year after year.
