Grimm aired its series finale at the end of March, and recently executive producers David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf spoke with Deadline about a possible future for the NBC TV show.
The show follows Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), a homicide detective who fights mythological forces. The cast also includes Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Bitsie Tulloch, Reggie Lee, Sasha Roiz, Bree Turner, and Claire Coffee.
In the interview, Kouf said they’d be open to a Grimm spin-off but the series ending was meant to have closure:
We just leave all our options open. You just never know. … It seemed like a very fairytale ending to the show. We really wanted to close the book on it.”
When asked about the possible future for Nick and Juliette, Greenwalt said the ending they got was more realistic:
There are a lot of people who have a lot of opinions about that on both sides of that question. But I think that there was such a beautiful speech in the third to last episode in which Eve/Juliette says, “I wouldn’t go back if I could … We’ve all grown, we’re all different now than we were.” So I think that’s more realistic.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Grimm? Would you watch a spin-off?
I loved the entire series and wish it would never end. I have been recording the shows on DVR this season so when. Got the time, I could catch up! Just loved the entire cast and the way that the entire crew was saved, what a great season end. MORE PLEASE!
I reallllly enjoyed Grimm and was sad to c ot cancelled. AND I would love to a spinoff.
Huge Grimm fan. Would definitely watch a spinoff.
I would love a spinoff or a new season. I miss it so much already and it is less than two weeks since the show ended. I really hope you give all of the fans something.
I loved Grimm and I hope there is a spin off
YES YES YES. Whichever was on I would watch it. All my friends and family also. We had pizza night and we DVR’d it so that we could watch it without the commercials. It was a ritual that we would go to one friend or families home for that night. We traded off between about 10 different homes. We are going to miss it if it truly will not return or a spin off doesn’t happen.
I would gladly watch a Grimm spinoff, or anything else that had the characters from Grimm in it. It was the best show on T.V.
I miss the show lots and WHY is it always the great shows that end and then replaced with utter junk like reality garbage . Loads of shows like levarge , knight rider , Nikita , alias , so many and some stop at average series 6 some reach a little higher but credit to all good shows with great writers and actors&actresses to all us tv show fans keep the good stuff coming and we will follow but don’t sell a good tv show short like the great cast on Grimm they jelled so well . Claire coffee no… Read more »
