Telly’s Take
The ratings have remained pretty steady (an impressive feat these days) so I suspect that CBS will want to renew Hawaii Five-0 for a ninth season. However, Alex O’Loughlin has indicated season eight may be his last, so that could easily spell the end for this reboot. I expect that he will agree to return and the show will be renewed. I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and will update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for free updates on any Hawaii Five-0 cancellation or renewal news.

What do you think? Are you glad that the Hawaii Five-0 TV show has been renewed for a ninth season? How would you feel if CBS had cancelled this TV show, instead?
Hope the show continues
They have a good show like Hawaii Five O, the story lines are good. I have been the kick off parties on the beach. I am glad to see a good show on tv.
I LOVE this show. Alex is so handsome and rugged and sexy. Danno is funny, quirky. Great cast. Lots of action. I hope there is a season 9, 10, 11. . .
I hope they continue for at least another season! I love the show!!
I hope they continue, i am liking the new cast, there is new vibe and new flow and more changes, thanks.
I am actually happy that they left. Daniel was good at the beginning but got boring and Grace (err…) overrated.
I mean, come on, how can they ask for the same salary. I totally agree with the below comments, this is not Friends.
The 2 new characters add some new life to the show, not that it needed it as it was already a great show. Steve and Danny are the main characters (much like the previous Hawaii 50), albeit Danny is missing in a few shows. There should be diversity in pay, based on which are most featured characters and most fan appeal, and characters with most dialogue on show, just like most other shows on TV including NCIS. Isn’t that fair? Regardless to that, the main cast and also new actors, are all great actors in new Hawaii 50, hope the… Read more »
Of course I want the show to continue but unfortunately with Daniel and Grace gone. The soul of the show is gone. While the new people on board are fine it is just not the same. I have stopped watching. Sad
I would love for them to bring a season 9. I just started watching it on netflix and im already to season 6 and the show is great. I love all the actors especially alex o’loughlin. He’s a really great actor and i love him. I really hope the have a season 9
I hope their will be a season 9. I really enjoy the show and the actors are great.. I love Alex O’loughlin, I think he is a great actor. The new cast has added a lot and I love the dog.
I would like to add that, I also think that CBS should allow Daniel and Grace to have their pay raise. Don’t bring back Chin and Kono unless you bring back Daniel and Grace. It wouldn’t be the same. Thank you again
I think they should have tried a spin-off in Vegas or SF with Daniel and Grace as leads…
I personally don’t care for remakes, but I really enjoyed watching all 8 seasons of Hawaii Five-O. I hope Alex O’ Loughlin and all the others stay to make many more seasons to come. I think Kono, Adam, Chin, and little Sara should come back in the picture if possible. I do like the fact that there are new people on the force and have the dog more often. I love it. Please add more seasons. Thank You.
season 6 was awful, but 7 was good sgain and Season 8 so far is even better. love the new cast and the relationship between Steve and Danny developing (as far as Peter Lenkov dares to take it). Alex has been enjoying the new cast and working with the dog as well (at least in the mid-series interview he said so ). hopefully they can keep it up, renew and bring another season and job security for a lot of (hawaiian) crew members
The show should have ended when Kim and Park left. The new series shows are lame. There isn’t the same family cohesiveness. The holiday show never showed McGarrette’s sister and niece or Danny’s daughter.
I’m in agreement with you there. The series hasn’t been the same since Daniel and Grace departed. Time to say aloha to Five-O. Eight years is a good run, but the ideas well will run dry eventually. End it before that happens.
They don’t have the same sense of family as before.
Since Park and Day are gone, the show has lost its luster. It can cancel so far as I am concerned.
They should have the dog as a regular feature every week. Ratings would go off the charts. Alex likes working with the dog, and has experience training dogs.
