What’s This TV Show About?
A police procedural airing on the CBS television network, Hawaii Five-0 stars Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Ian Anthony Dale, Meaghan Rath, Beulah Koale, Jorge Garcia, Chi McBride, Taylor Wily, Dennis Chun, and Kimee Balmilero. The action revolves around Detective Steve McGarrett (O’Loughlin) and his elite state police task force. Together, they fight crime in the 50th state.
Season Eight Ratings
The eighth season of Hawaii Five-0 averaged a 0.95 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 8.29 million viewers. Compared to season seven, that’s down by 16% in the demo and down by 5% in viewership. Find out how Hawaii Five-0 stacks up against the other CBS TV shows.

Telly’s Take
The ratings have remained pretty steady (an impressive feat these days) so I suspect that CBS will want to renew Hawaii Five-0 for a ninth season. However, Alex O’Loughlin has indicated season eight may be his last, so that could easily spell the end for this reboot. I expect that he will agree to return and the show will be renewed. Please keep Hawaii Five 0 going as long as possible. I thought it wouldn’t quite be the same without Chin and Kino as I loved the Fab 4. However the show do introduce the new characters well and keep original ones very well. Of course the show would NEVER be the same without Danno and definitely not without McGarrett, if no McGarrett, there’s no show. Absolutely love the personal stories and one of my favourites is the Carguments between Danny and Steve. Also they show definitely bring back Catherine so her and Steve can finally get together and settle down.
You have to do season 9 and bring Steve and Catherine back together. Please please please they are so awesome together. It would be fantastic to see Chin and Kono back on. Seriously tani needs to let it go about the evidence against Adam. How hypocritical is she! Did she forget how Adam helped her with her drug addict brother? She definitely hasn’t been doing things by the book when it comes to herself and her brother. She’s just annoying!
Please please do not cancel Hawaii five o it is such a great show and I love all the stars
I stopped watching when Chin and Kono left because there needs to be more Hawaiian characters on a show about Hawaii. I also liked the idea of Ohana that Chin and Kono brought to the show. I watched the last episode of season 8, thinking it was the series finale, but I guess they’re going to squeeze out one more season even though the actors look older and I just fast forward the annoying married couple banter between Steve and Danny.
I love this show (Hawaii five o) hope its on for a lot longer !!!!I never miss a show ( Alex) steve is the best !!
This is a great series. My husband and I never miss a show. We truly hope that it is renewed for the next season.
I have been watching this show on and off for the past few years and it has really been my most favorite show yet. I hope to see it continue!!
As much as I love the show the heart and soul are gone with Grace and Daniel off the show. Do not think it will survive.
Hawaii Five-O is FABULOUS!!! Everything about it is GREAT! The original cast members are TERRIFIC, the new cast members are AWESOME! The writing keeps getting better and better and I would LOVE to see Alex O. direct more episodes! Really, this show has it all: drama, humor, characters you really care about, great location! The show is intelligent with some super twists and turns!
PLEASE renew Hawaii Five-O for Season Nine and beyond!!!!
I’a all for a new season. This is a very good show, and it would be even better with more Joe White in it and maybe a new Wo Fat. Alex is always at his best as an actor when his character has to deal with serious personnal issues or redoubtable opponents, not only with the villain of the day. If Grace and Daniel have chosen to leave, then good bye. They did not carry the weight of the show on their shoulders. Alex as McGarret does, and he does it well.
Please renew Hawaii Fivd-o. I love this show! I watch every show and every rerun. Friday night will never be the same without it.

I hope the series continues. I grew up watching the original in the 70’s and wasn’t sure the reboot could live up to it. That said, it really is nothing like the original series. I have to say that I have enjoyed this series because I am a fan of action movies and shows. I am keeping my fingers crossed we get a season nine.

This show is no longer interesting since Kono & Kelly are gone! It won’t bother me if it’s canceled!
