The charade is over. Bravo has cancelled its Imposters TV show after two seasons. Word is that the NBCUniversal-owned cable network is changing up the way it handles scripted programming. Since there will be no season three of Imposters, the season two finale on June 7th, episode 2.10, “See You Soon, Macaroon,” will now served as the Imposters TV series finale.
A Bravo dark comedy, Imposters stars Inbar Lavi, Rob Heaps, Parker Young, Marianne Rendón, Stephen Bishop, and Brian Benben, with Uma Thurman guest starring. It centers on Maddie (Lavi), a beautiful con-artist, and the “Bumblers,” a team of her former victims. The producers will reportedly try to shop a third season of Imposters, elsewhere.
Imposters: A Look at the Ratings
The second season of Imposters is averaging a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 419,000 viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 50% and 43%, respectively. Learn how Imposters stacks up against other Bravo TV shows.
Imposters Cancelled After Two Seasons as Bravo Shakes Things Up
Here’s more on the Imposters cancellation from The Hollywood Reporter:
Sources say Imposters had a strong run on Netflix and Bravo had hoped that the Universal Cable Productions drama would receive a ratings bump following its SVOD run given that the cable network is not best known for its scripted series. That was not the case as season two, which returned a year later with not a lot of marketing muscle behind it, lost a chunk of its live viewership.
Sources say UCP may try to shop the series elsewhere with Netflix a possibility given that the series is said to have performed better on the streaming giant than on its original home at Bravo. The series has been a profit generator at UCP thanks to the Netflix deal and strong international sales.
In a larger sense, the decision to cancel Imposters marks a change in the Bravo’s scripted direction. The cable network’s first scripted original — Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, starring Adelstein— will end with its fifth season, bowing June 14. Once that wraps, Bravo’s lone scripted drama will be big-swing anthology Dirty John, starring Connie Britton and Eric Bana. The anthology was picked up following a bidding war, with Bravo handing out a two-season order for the drama and supporting the series with companion docuseries on corporate sibling Oxygen. The move marks a shift in Bravo’s scripted direction to bigger and bolder programming that can cut through a cluttered landscape expected to top 500 scripted originals this year.
What do you think? Have you been watching the second season of the Imposters TV show? If it were up to you, would Bravo have cancelled or renewed this TV series for a third season?
Imposter should definitely have a 3rd season. The characters are great and have a great following. So many of my friends are watching it on Netflix 55 – 65 y/o audience says KEEP IT COMING !!!!!
This is a very clever show it should have been picked up for another season. Really hope Netflix’s steps in.
Binge watching IMPOSTERS. So very, very disappointed there is not Season 3.
Hope someone picks it up and continues with Season 3. Interesting premise, great acting, terrific plot twists. Keeps viewers wanting to see more.
My husband and I just binge watched the 2nd season of this show. We loved it!!! I sure hope someone picks it up for a third season. Season 1 and Season 2 were absolutely brilliant and you have a major movie star Uma Thurman. Big mistake to cancel this series. There are son many great series get cancelled and the crappy onea don’t. Please bring it back! All of the characters/actors were great!!
just watched both seasons & loved it ! disappointed no third season.
Don’t want to get anyones hopes up but a article on Business Times says that Netflix may pick the series up. I sure hope so. Great series! Here’s the title (links delay postings): ‘Imposters’ Season 3 Might Get Netflix Renewal As Bravo’s Cancellation Received Uproar From Fans
Imposters kept the viewer on the edge of their seat every episode. The writing and acting was exceptional. I have seen other shows copying the basic con storyline but not as well. Each actor scary good. I pray another network picks the show up but gather there’s been too much time since the last show. Oh, brilliant people in TV Land. This show is a goldmine. Gather ye nuggets.
Absolutely not. Great cadt great story..line. something different, instead of bravos stupid housewives….
Personally, I loved the show!!! I’m sad to hear that it’s been cancelled. I had no idea it wasn’t renewed for season 3 until now when I googled when the new series would start. If the show gets another chance I’ll definitely be watching it
Bummer this got cancelled, I liked the show .

Please bring Imposters back. It was one of the few shows on ALL channels that had good writing.
BIING IT BACK! Thats really all I have to say except I’m tired of great shows being canceled.
PLEASE bring back Imposters, I Love this show!! I’ve never seen another show like it. You can’t cancel it with that ending… Ezra answering the doctors cell phone and pretending to be him. That makes me want to see what happens next with him and everyone else, the whole cast is amazing. Bring the show back!!
I wish there was a way that these networks could notify viewers of their programs if the show is cancelled or renewed. As it stands now, viewers are left with having to search the web which often leads to results that provide no or false information. As for this show, the decision to cancel the Imposters, which according to this website, came a week before the season 2 finale. I just found out about this cancellation minutes ago. I really liked this show. I mostly watch cable tv series because the main network channels are quick to cancel shows. Now… Read more »
Imposters is a very well scripted, well acted, clever, humerous series with OMG twists and I-did-not-see-that-coming scenes. I cannot believe that it’s ratings are so poor that it has to be axed. Is it not marketed correctly? Have you chosen the wrong donkey to carry this in your horse race for ratings? Take a chance. Make Series 3 and MARKET the whole thing correctly. My bet is sky rocketing ratings. Ever forward, never back. Right?
I had no idea this show was canceled until I was looking for the season 3 premiere. Oh well, another witty show down the tubes. Bravo seems to be the nasty people who over botoxed channel.
