What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Netflix paid subscription platform, The Indian Detective stars Russell Peters, Mishqah Parthiephal, Christina Cole, Scott Cavalheiro, Anupam Kher, Hazma Haq, and William Shatner. The mystery comedy-drama centers on Constable Doug D’Mello (Peters), a Toronto police officer who can’t get out of his own way, in his quest to make detective. When a big case fizzles out, Doug visits his father Stanley (Kher) in Mumbai. There, he gets caught up in a murder investigation which leads him straight into the sights of a lethal criminal — one with ties back to Toronto.

Telly’s Take
Because this TV show airs on CTV in Canada, and streams on Netflix in the US, I can’t use the Nielsen ratings to predict whether they’ll cancel or renew The Indian Detective for season two. In addition, this is one of those shows that could end up as a mini-series. While I’m always up for Indian food, I don’t have a strong feeling either way about a second-season pickup. Hello. We REALLY liked the first season of The Indian Detective. The acting is flawless and believable, the storyline intriguing and revealing, and
the photography is stunning, if sometimes depressing. In an educational way, that is. Please continue on with this journey.
Well, because the show was made in 2017 and hasn’t gotten a second season 6 years later in 2023, I’m thinking the odds of a second season are slim.
We hope this show is renewed. We just discovered it, loved it andand binge watched it.
My wife and I love the show and really hope that gets another season or two.
I enjoy this show. I want to see what happens next. Doug’s life is in danger as well as all his family and his girlfriend’s family. Make that 2nd season happen !!
