The Law & Order franchise has been running for decades on NBC and several hundreds of episodes. Creator Dick Wolf knows how to create a series and keep it going. Now, he’s introduced a new spin-off that revolves around one of the franchise’s most beloved characters. Can this show fail? Is Law & Order: Organized Crime essentially guaranteed to be renewed for season two or, could it still be cancelled due to disappointing ratings? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A police procedural series, Law & Order: Organized Crime is a spin-off of the long-running Law & Order: Special Victims Unit TV show and stars Christopher Meloni, Dylan McDermott, Tamara Taylor, Danielle Moné Truitt, and Ainsley Seiger. Nicky Torchia, Michael Rivera, and Ibrahim Renno recur. For 12 seasons of SVU, NYPD Detective Elliot Stabler (Meloni) worked for Manhattan’s 16th Precinct and was partnered with Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). In the spin-off, Stabler returns to the NYPD to battle organized crime following the loss of his wife, Kathy, in a car bomb that was meant for him. However, the city and police department have changed dramatically in the decade he’s been away and he must adapt to a criminal justice system in the midst of its own moment of reckoning. Stabler aims to find absolution and rebuild his life while leading a new elite task force that is taking apart the city’s most powerful criminal syndicates one by one.

What do you think? Do you like the Law & Order: Organized Crime TV series on NBC? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
*5/14/21 update: Law & Order: Organized Crime has been renewed for a second season on NBC.
I love the mew Law and OrderOrganized Crime but please turn that drama music down. Too much too loud!!
I believe in giving every show a chance. I am 69 years and have seen most all of the Law and Order franchise. The young black lady acts as if she is acting; in fact she acts as if she does not want to be there. The other characters are just boring. Stabler will always be a class act. He needs a different group of people with whom to work. The premise is good, though. Try it another season.
The only reason I’m still watching is Dylan McDermott. He’s doing a great job. Doubtful I’ll watch another season though.
I love this show, so happy its renewed!!
I’ve watched all of the Law & Orders from the start. SVU has always been intense. To be truthful it has put on kid gloves lately. But now you’re in the zone again with Organized Crimes. It would be sick to bring back Elliot and Kathy just to kill her off. People have to be patient and stop rushing the show. This is going in the right direction. They are not doing too much of the two shows mixing on each other. Elliot has always been a strong character, he’s always had what it takes to show the range he… Read more »
I was looking forward to the OC series. With all the hype I thought Stabler was going to be the main character. In my opinion he is not. The cast does not blend together. The black female Sgt. is boring and not very good. The two male detectives have no personality and the young female computer person is terrible. A team of detectives should have a showing of working together and meshing, such and SVU, Swat, Rookie and FBI. The show won’t last is the cast is the same. No personalities makes a boring show.
For the few of you who think Law and Order Organized Crime is a great show, it is NOT translating into ratings because each episode of the show is losing viewers every week: Episode 1 7.857 viewers Episode 2 4.837 viewers Episode 3 4.410 viewers Episode 4 4.363 viewers Season one of Organized Crime is only 8 episodes and at this point Law and Order SVU weekly ratings are higher than OC and SVU has been on the air for 22 seasons. This tells me, viewers are not really into this show. I know some fans are only watching OC… Read more »
I’m all for “jump the shark” entertainment, it has its place and can be a fun ride. I had hoped this version of the Law & Order franchise would go back to the formula of the original series. After the ridiculous octopus scene at the beginning of episode three I was out.
Great show, hope it gets renewed
There are not a lot of people who think Organized Crime is a great show because each week the ratings continue to drop. SVU ratings are higher than OC and SVU has been on for 22 seasons. Then there are the group of fans who are only watching OC to see if Elliot and Olivia become a romantic couple. If this does not happen, these fans will stop watching OC. Season one of OC only has 8 episodes so we shall see. At this point it looks very doubtful for a season 2
terrible show.
I like the Show, I like the continuous storyline. Can’t Wait To See What Happens on each episode. Thank you.
Cancelled
Hoping to see another season.
