Is Elliot Stable returning to Law & Order: SVU? TVLine reports Chris Meloni may return for the NBC TV show’s upcoming 21st season.
Meloni played Detective Elliot Stabler on the crime drama from seasons one through 12. The series currently stars Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, Kelli Giddish, Peter Scanavino, and Philip Winchester.
Although Meloni hasn’t announced return to Law & Order: SVU, showrunner Warren Leight says he’s hopeful the former star will reprise his role in the future:
Look: I assume that if some year, some decade, couple decades from now, we get to the last SVU, [Meloni] would have to come back before we do the last episode or before the show signs off.
It would be tricky, because it’s now been eight years since the characters were seen together. So how’d they get in touch? We haven’t seen it. Where has he been? How do you explain that? There are storytelling challenges to it.”

Definitely YES, I only watch reruns of SVU with Chris in them. The show has not been the same since he left
I love that show and it would be nice to see Ellioitt come back because he’s crazy. But he always showed that you can’t just do this and not feel some type of way. There is now way to deal with those type of parts and not feel the hurt disgust and pain. Let’s just pretend he been on special assignment with the FBI. He had to go get his family back together. Alex the prosecutor did came back and left again. It would be good to bring her back toooo. Go get Munch tooo while you at it.
Elliot has been off working in the private sector. Then comes the case that involves a client of Elliot’s and the SVU squad. That’s how Olivia and El come back together. Elliot is all about protecting his client. Even if it means getting in the way of the investigation. But of course El being El , he does the right thing in the end. Also as a side note, his oldest son is graduating from the police academy. So there will be another Stabler on the force.
Hell yeah bring him back I never wanted to see him go in the first place.

ABSOLUTELY. SVU without Stabler is like getting to the last chapter of a mystery novel and the last few pages are ripped out. Just something missing.
The chemistry between Stabler & Benson is still there I’m sure. The dynamic is new as she would now be HIS boss. Hmm. Interesting.

Absolutely Stabler should return! They could do something involving one of his kids. If i recall his one daughter was involved with a number of issues, or possibly his youngest son could be in college now accused of assault. I think bringing him back in would need to involve a family scandal he helps try to solve. Any way he returns would be great!
