NBC is done with this case. The network has cancelled the Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector TV show so it won’t be returning for a second season.
Based on the novel The Bone Collector by Jeffery Deaver, the drama series brings former NYPD detective and forensic genius Lincoln Rhyme (Russell Hornsby) out of retirement to hunt for an enigmatic serial killer who left him paralyzed. The cast also includes Arielle Kebbel, Brían F. O’Byrne, Tate Ellington, Courtney Grosbeck, Ramses Jimenez, Brooke Lyons, Roslyn Ruff, and Michael Imperioli.
Airing on Friday nights, the first season of Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector averaged a 0.47 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.66 million viewers.
While the show’s ratings were quite low, even for a Friday night show, it wasn’t NBC’s lowest-rated scripted series. Of the network’s shows for the 2019-20 season, Lincoln Rhyme ranked 14th out of 19 scripted series. Fellow first-year NBC shows Perfect Harmony and Sunnyside have also been cancelled.
What do you think? Have you seen Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector? Would you have watched season two on NBC?
That sorts it then: I will not watch any new series going forward unless there are at least 2 or 3 seasons of it available. I am done investing my time into shows that turn out to be great but then get cancelled (probably with cliffhangers and no resolution) because they don’t have the ratings of 20 years ago.
Wake up, studios: there are too many of you out there so you will never see those numbers ever again.
I totally agree. I slipped up and watched this one because I loved the movie. I usually wait till I see a season 2 pick up.
Why is it that you cancel good shows? That was a great thriller. A great mystery to how to find a serial killer. Everyone has a specialty to get him. You should stand by good shows !!!
Just don’t make them like they used to. A real entertaining show. Unfortunately, without the rediculous sex appeal of “reality” shows.
Lincoln Rhyme Bone Collector = Excellent Show, Actors, Stories & WILL be missed. NBC = not the sharpest knife in the drawer – USED to be a good network. As far as I’m concerned the only good shows on this network are, Blacklist, Blindspot, Council of Dads, Good Girls, LRBC, Manifest, New Amsterdam and This is Us. It’s the final season for Blindspot and now they’ve cancelled LRBC. Hate all the so-called reality, game or competition shows, all senseless hype, never ever watch on any network. Drama, story & character driven shows must be too complicated for the simple minded… Read more »
I totally agree with you about these kids don’t have an attention span. They can’t watch a really good mystery, they can’t stay that far away from their phones or i-pads. Those game shows & reality shows suck. Who ever thought those up, ruined TV. The new writers can only stay with an idea for a few minutes till the stunt is over. Please someone have an imagination, & not an ending we can guess……
Definitely would have watched seasons, 2, 3 4, etc. I am old school and perhaps this was too much like the old TV show, Ironside or the movie Rear Window. They just don’t give shows enough time to establish themselves.
I am greatly disappointed that NBC canceled Lincoln Rhyme! Whhat are you thinking?! That was an excellent show. My son & I both watched it every week. It was one of the few shows worth keeping.
I’m saddened by this news. I enjoyed the movie and I enjoyed the tv show. I was concerned when in the season finale they caught and killed the bone collector.
I’m disappointed that this program has been cancelled. Another spot open for a reality show, game show or contest. I won’t be watching any of these.
Cancelled !! ??? How can you cancel it ? the actors are good .. the plot is good .. why ?? it’s the only show that my teenage son and I watch together … have you heard of PVR ? I tape it and watch it later .. so not sure how you count your viewing population but the show is good !!! As someone else said, at least give them season 2 and then make a decision.
I really enjoyed the show! It’s a shame to cancel it! We’re not in the 18-49 age group, so I guess our opinion doesn’t count!!!
Very true I am not in their group of 18 to 49 either. I have an attention span.
I love a good story, to guess who the killer is & an exciting story to keep looking forward to watching. Not reality shows, like will he kiss her or not & people crying after knowing someone for a week. Rediculous. Game shows that are just not that much fun watching other people having rediculous fun.
Wow I’m really shocked to hear about the cancelation I really enjoyed the show i was looking forward to seeing a second season
Oh i hate to hear this..we really loved this show..so sad
Are you people out of your minds? You get a good show and you cancel it. Shows that are clueless you leave on the tube. I really enjoyed the show and looked forward to seeing it every week. Please bring it back.
will this seriously sucks me and my hubby like this show watch all of it why in the world would you cancel this show? yes I would have watch second season you better believe I would have.
Yes. Would like to see a season 2
